I remember a TNA storyline where Eric Bishoff was pissed the X-Division segments were the highest rated each week so he sent Abyss out to 'destroy' them.

2005/2006 Kurt Angle was peerless. It’s terrifying to think he was self-destructing.

There is this streaming tv app called PLUTO TV and they have an IMPACT channel and they just play IMPACT! shows and clips 24/7. I was watching the other day and it was enjoyable. It does though seem like nothing that happened there really matters in the world of wrestling even if it was good.

Odds on someone being offended and calling for a Rock boycott that will fail?

He's gearing up for that soft Republican run. Don't agree with Rock at all. People who complain about people complaining are the biggest pussies of all. Usually it's just because they want an excuse to be racist, sexist or some sort of phobic. Fuck those people and they deserve to feel awful about being awful. And, conversely, if I think your politics, how you treat people and what you believe are shitty, I'm likely going to think you are a shit person and not associate.

How does everything always go back to sexist, racist, or phobic in modern times? I don't think the Rock is complaining here pretty sure he just answered a question. He's just being real and calling out people for wanting to be offended by everything.

What do you think people get offended by?

The Rock is making a bunch of people who feel insecure about their own behaviors and thoughts feel better by setting up the straw-man that other people are being overly sensitive. It's a tired trope of people who don't want to accept the reason people don't like them might just be because they're genuinely unpleasant. It's a great technique for getting mouth-breathers to vote for him if he decides to run, but I don't think it's going to fly with progressives and/or people who realize that every generation says this about every generation beneath them, and that maybe it's older people with their Hays Conventions and the like that might just be a bit more sensitive. If we're talking factually and historically.

Anyway, it turns out the interview is not true anyway. The Rock came out on Instagram and said it's bullshit made up by the reporter and also coined the phrase "tequila generation" instead. I didn't think The Rock was as vapid a cunt as some of the mouth-breathers here on TPWW.

WWE have reportedly cancelled a SmackDown house show the night after the Royal Rumble due to "production issues." Do you think that this could be a euphemism for "didn't sell enough tickets?"

SmackDown house shows often suffer the most during roster splits. SmackDown as a show gets hammered creatively when they're not in one. It'll be interesting to see what, if any, changes WWE makes because of this.

Wish it was a Smackdown house show coming here in Feb...... I'd actually go..... gonna be RAW though.... pass.....

It could be, but Raw and SmackDown are emanating from the same arena in Phoenix the Monday and Tuesday after the Rumble. I'm not sure what sense it really makes to have a crew set up a ring and shit in another city when the roster is going to have to go back to Phoenix anyway.

Really love this match and it's probably one of the best examples I've seen of comedy in wrestling being done right. I can understand complaints about Joey Ryan's dick, Chuck Taylor's grenade, Priscilla Kelly's tampon or whatever else...but this is just two goofballs having a fun little match without doing anything too ridiculous, and the crowd is into it.

Noid, there are absolutely troglidites on the opposite end of outrage culture who, as you say, use it as an excuse for their prejudices, or to look "hard" on the internet.

That doesn't mean there isn't a large group of extremists who have pushed the noble cause of tolerance and equality so far past the point of reason that it is eating itself. They're literally hurting their own causes. Not that they likely care that much. A lot of them are blatantly transparent. Just a bunch of uninteresting people using actually cultural and societal problems to make themselves seem interesting.

Meanwhile there are those of us who want all that tolerance and equality, without losing ourselves to the crusade of achieving it. I mean, I don't know what it's like where you're from, but here we get headlines like an RA at Pitzer college sending out an email stating it was unacceptable for caucasions to wear hoop earings as it's "culturally offensive". Or a Seattle councilman expressing concern that hosing down some filthy sidewalks that smelled of excrement might be insensitive “because it brought back images of the use of hoses against civil-rights activists.” Or a private college in New York deeming larger size chairs a "microaggression", that shames fat people. These are just a few examples but there are literally hundreds of headlines like this, across the country every week.

At the end of the day, people need to chill out and just treat everyone else how they would like to be treated regardless of skin color, gender, nationality, etc., without losing our god damn sense of humor.
