An unfortunate side effect of Rogue's prolonged power sapping: changing her from a white woman into a black guy.

That's actually unexplored potential right there. Maybe not everyone goes into comas.

Nepotist Joss Whedon pity casting.

Ripper 04-06-2013 08:47 AM

Depending on his role he could be quite good, in his defence he wasn't that bad in Angel the phrase 'super top-secret role' is a little worrying though as it suggests Whedon is going to try and be clever with it.

Here's how ABC describes the series:

"Joss Whedon (MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) shows us not all heroes are super with MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fresh from his role in the summer’s box office smash, MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) returns to the worldwide law enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D. He puts together a small, highly trained, team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet, the new, the strange and the unknown. That team consists of straight arrow Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); and brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). They’ll be joined by civilian new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

"Prepare for an epic adventure that showcases the hope and wonder of the human spirit. This is a world of Super Heroes, aliens and the unusual – of action, spectacle and world spanning stories. The show will speak to the human condition through the lens of our very human, non-powered S.H.I.E.L.D agents – that together we are greater than we are apart, and that we can make a difference in the world.

"Executive Produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost, Heroes) comes Marvel’s first live-action TV series, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D."

Lock Jaw 04-07-2013 12:07 AM

Always with the socially awkward scientists.

Cap 2 got its own thread with production underway, all the news will be there as usual. Also all the Phase 2 movie threads have links to each other here on out (in the OP).

Interesting look. Looks more down the route of the Ultimate version of Electro, but a different colour.

Miotch 04-16-2013 03:20 PM

Never realized how giant his nose is until he was painted silverblue

Kalyx triaD 04-16-2013 04:40 PM

I like it.

Micheal Rooker will be playing Yondu, a "big game hunter" from the world of Centauri IV, and one of the four founding members of the Guardians. He joins a cast that reportedly includes Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Star Lord, and Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer.

Blitz 04-16-2013 05:49 PM

Michael Rooker improves everything.

Shadow 04-17-2013 12:55 AM

Nice...going back to the old school Guardians of the Galaxy for him.

Kalyx triaD 04-17-2013 01:07 AM

I have a feeling Guardians will completely embarrass Green Lantern's movie.

Blitz 04-17-2013 02:11 AM

I've not seen Lantern, but given it's reputation, I don't think that's much of a task.

Fignuts 04-17-2013 03:37 AM

I actually liked Green Lantern. Though a big part of it had to do with how low my expectations were.

DaveBrawl 04-17-2013 08:35 AM

Same here.

fixed

Inadequacy 04-23-2013 03:29 PM

I fucking love the original guardians series. Yondu was never my favourite character but this is still fantastic news.

I don't even care that he's supposed to be from the 31st century.

Lock Jaw 04-23-2013 04:34 PM

The rights to Daredevil have officially gone back to Marvel Studios (from FOX).

Kalyx triaD 04-23-2013 06:34 PM

We all knew that. Fox dropped the ball last year and I knew they weren't going to make another movie in time.

Lock Jaw 04-23-2013 06:44 PM

Obviously we did not all know that. I just saw the news "making the rounds" yesterday night. It does say that the rights would have reverted on October 10, so it is possible for some to know that.

Kalyx triaD 04-23-2013 06:48 PM

Well I knew that and shared it as such so I though we were all on the same page there. I will be more clear about musings in the future.

Miotch 04-23-2013 07:00 PM

Who cares? DD is probably my least favorite marvel super hero.

Miotch 04-23-2013 07:00 PM

I mean, of the 'major' super heroes at least. I'm not talking about Tygra or fucking randoms.

Corrected.

Lock Jaw 04-23-2013 07:11 PM

It was actually a legit and correct way to say it.

A proper response would be "I care."

Kalyx triaD 04-23-2013 07:12 PM

The thing is I don't, I never cared for DD outside of team-ups, but news is news.

no you mong I was asking who cares and then stated my opinion

Kalyx triaD 04-23-2013 07:42 PM

Okay.

Blitz 04-23-2013 07:47 PM

I care. I like Daredevil. So there.

Lock Jaw 04-23-2013 08:29 PM

Now question answered. So there we have it.

I will also care depending on if they make a good Daredevil movie. I have read good Daredevil stories, so it is possible.

Skippord 04-23-2013 11:51 PM

Big Daredevil fan, so I care.

The Destroyer 04-24-2013 05:15 AM

Yeah there's been fantastic Daredevil stuff over the years. Love the Bendis and Brubaker runs.

Probably going to be a long time before we see a DD film from Marvel though.

Fignuts 04-24-2013 05:24 AM

Daredevil has been one of, if not the best written characters the last 10 years. From Kevin Smith to Ed Brubaker's run, DD has been amazing, and I hope they reboot it.

If you get someone who understands the character, a DD movie could be incredible.

Innovator 04-24-2013 07:40 AM

I would love to see properly done Daredevil and Punisher movies.

Not sure why that Punisher with Ray Stevenson is so hated. I thought it was a damn good movie and Stevenson was great as Punisher (better cast than Thomas Jane).

DaveBrawl 04-24-2013 10:44 AM

I also care about Daredevil.

Rammsteinmad 04-24-2013 01:33 PM

Loved both Punisher movies, but that Ray Stevenson one was probably the most accurate depiction of the character on-screen.

As for Daredevil, personally I loved the movie. Granted, there's a lot of stuff about it that coulda been different, but overall it's a good film, and I thought Ben Afleck did a good job. Definitely wanna see a new Daredevil movie, one of my favourite characters.
