Feels weird people are paying so much for the Nintendo Classic system. Only 30 games and it can't be plugged into the internet for updates/more games being added in. Seems like a waste.

Yeah, if I knew there wss an update system, I'd be more inclined to shrll out for it, but with only 30 games, some of which I have no interest in, it''s a hard sell for me.
Obviously emulation being so eady and readily available is a factor as well. |
It is recognised on a PC as a USB device so people are working on hacking it, but since they made it be recognised, Nintendo might have plans.

Did the VC platform die or something..? I'm also perplexed at the enthusiasm for a miniconsole that's essentially like those mini segas that were also rendered obsolete by a huge sega collection relessed a while back. I don't get it. Is it cause it's cute?

No but VC support has been pretty low for both the 3DS and Wii U this gen. Mainly because a lot of third party companies not bothering unlike with the Wii and Nintendo having to do more work for the games.
This is probably just them taping into the nostalgia market since the NES is usually #1 for retro consoles and beefing up their holiday lineup for big stuff since all they have is Pokemon and Super Mario Maker for the 3DS. Probably also helps Nintendo put a lot more effort with the NES Classic than Atari, SNK, and Sega did for their replicas. |
I don't understand why they didn't just add 100 games. It's not like they take up much space anymore for these tiny games. Then you take the console up to 100 dollars.

The problem is we already hit the point where games really don't need remaster releases since they still look good. Think it was even a big selling point online for the PS4 with Sony being aggressive getting Xbox 360 owners to switch to them this gen. Get to play classic PS3 games and PS brand games without needing to buy those older consoles.

But the games Sony rereleased were often straight ports with maybe an aspect adjustment. Basically how it should be done (though X1 is doing that more often now with the growing emulation list). What's scary is hearing a game you like being remastered. I wonder if Darksider fans got off easy.

More remakes/reboots and less remasters. Since hell froze over and we're getting an ff7 remake maybe we can get a chrono trigger remake too. Hell blaster master is getting a reboot. So much better than remasters most of the time.

Yeah I can attest to running Final Fantasy 15 in Lite mode on the PS4 Pro. Runs much much smoother. That 4k sure is pretty though. I tend to run it in 4k mode and switch to lite mode when I know more action is coming.

It's very likely Japan exclusive. NJPW has next to no official presence here aside from pirated wrestling games and us alpha nerds knowing the true origin of the N64 AKI wrestling game engine. They must have been mentioned on screen on WWE three times ever.

I'd say there's a chance. We've had costumes that have no relation to anything in the west before that have been licensed. Just depends on the deal.
