Only real interesting topic left that has been barely touched in depth is the tragic impact the Screwjob caused for Owen Hart's life. Pretty much set everything in motion leading to his death less than 2 years later.

Out of the Hart Foundation, he was the only one to not jump ship to WCW but not out of loyalty to Vince. He wasn't financial strong enough to break his WWF contract unlike Bret and don't think WCW were interested or ever gave him a reasonable offer to leave.

Then you have the completely avoidable circumstances that led to both his Blue Blazer gimmick and tragic death at Over the Edge 1999. WWE being petty over his refusal for an infidelity storyline and his plea to not do the dangerous stunt from the rafters cost Owen his life in the end.

 an actual quality match got announced for WWE's Evolution event from tonight's NXT TV tapings.

NXT Women's title match:
SPOILER: show
Kairi Sane vs Shayna Baszler

Seem like a bunch of wrestlers on that site!

Bret Hart for $125. James Ellsworth for $20!

I am mad that I missed Brutus "The Barber" and Mickey Gall. A Cameo from either of them would have ended up being my best friend's Christmas Present.

According to Curt Hawkins, WWE's big payoff to his winless streak storyline was to just have him win a random match on Main Event and as a toss-away moment.

Only reason the winless streak still exists is due to Hawkins fighting to keep it intact since he realized that's the only reason why people watch his matches anymore in the WWE.

GD 09-21-2018 06:40 PM

Would be quite amusing to see him break the streak by beating someone of significance on an episode of RAW.

There's a Curt Hawkins collection on the Network right now called "Nothing to Lose". I can only imagine what's on it.

It was called "The Wrestlers". They did a show on the Exoticos in Mexico, Deathmatches/CZW, Womens wrestling, Bolivian wrestling, New Japan, DDT,Wrestling events in Native Reservations in Northern Canada. They did others but those are the ones I've seen.

Btw, check out Nirvanna The Band The Show on Viceland. Funniest show I've seen in years.

Cool King 09-23-2018 07:55 AM

I've always watched his matches.

He's a smart man though and hopefully the payoff will be a surprise title win, even if he loses it the next day or seconds later.

I imagine the moment him breaking his losing streak by randomly winning a championship would be insane.

Cool King 09-23-2018 12:40 PM

I watched Judgement Day 2002 today even though I was planning to do that yesterday. I'll catch up eventually.

Anyways, my usual random (and mostly pointless) thoughts on what I've just watched:

• You can see the boom mic above Stacy's head.

https://i.postimg.cc/VvZDWyqk/image.png

• Seeing a very young Sign Guy made me wonder where he is these days. I don't think I've seen him or any of his signs in months.

https://i.postimg.cc/9QZYrwnM/image.png

• Here's a "Fun Fact", Batista's first word on WWE Television was "Sinner".

• I found it strangely coincidental that I was watching this PPV which featured a Hell in a Cell match and talks of an upcoming "big event in Australia" (Global Warning) at the same time that we had a Hell in a Cell PPV (and matches) and current hyping of Super Show-Down.

• I get what she was going for given the match stipulation but I just found this sign to be a bit strange.

https://i.postimg.cc/wxrX2kKM/image.png

Speaking of Edge though, Lawler saying that Edge's head is shaped like a dinosaur is probably one of the most random things I've heard Lalwer say but JR did give me a good chuckle when he replied with ""His Head is shaped like a dinosaur", where the hell did you get that?".

It's what we were all thinking.

• The Booker T and Goldust skit when Goldust appears in bed with Booker T and a woman he met is one, along with the "Slurpee & Wiener" skit, I remember so vividly and find funny every time I watch it.

The team of Booker T & Goldust were golden (pun not intended).

I did however notice that when Booker T turns out the light, you can still kinda make out movement on screen and can make out Goldust getting into bed. I remember watching that back in 2002 and you couldn't see anything. It was just a black screen.

I can only assume that it's got something to do with WWE's "master copy" or whatever you call it or how SD converts to HD or something.

I will also say that I've always loved how Lalwer can had to skits like that with his screams, just like he did when he saw Booker's bare ass as Booker ran out of the room.

• Seeing the Hell in a Cell after seeing the new red one last week makes me realise how much better the old cell was. For one thing, the old one looked more "legit" and more painful looking if you were to get smashed into it. The new red one looks more "friendly" so to speak. It kinda reminds me of a big toy, almost plastic looking.

Plus, the old cell is easier to see through. The new red one isn't really as clear, which I remember reading at the time was a problem people had with TNA's "TerrorDome/Steel Asylum".

After Triple H & Jericho's Hell in a Cell match, JR did a good job explaining why you don't see Hell in a Cell matches that often and all I could think was that all that means absolutely nothing now because we get at least two Hell in a Cell matches every year and even one year (2016) we got four.

• This was the debut of Undertaker's new theme after using "Rollin'". I didn't realise it at the time but he stopped using "Rollin'" after Hogan destroyed his motorcycle as he was no longer "Rollin'", so to speak.

A funny fan moment during the Main Event was when Hogan Irish-Whiped Undertaker into the steel steps and Taker crashed into them and it sent him flying over them and you clearly heard a fan yelling "Holy Shit! Did you see that!? Oh my God!".

• I'll end this post with a random image from the show that comes with no context:

I'd put money on the big payoff being anti-climatic or terrible since WWE has already been trying to just toss it away going by Hawkins statements. I'd put even more money down on whoever he beats just utterly squashes him the next week and WWE kills off all momentum from that shock victory.

WWE's been terrible in recent years on delivering good payoffs to big or interesting moments.

Emperor Smeat 09-23-2018 06:40 PM

Seems Lesnar is going to continue juggling around between MMA and wrestling after Crown Jewel. Observer reported WWE recently signed a deal with Lesnar to lock him in for next year's Mania.

Would also confirm rumors and reports of UFC not signing him to a contract yet and only is locked down for the Daniel Cormier fight.

He sat through tons of WWE shows over the past 15 years. I assume he had to have gone crazy and offed himself.
