Yeah, just came here to post that.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty pissed off.

The Destroyer 11-03-2014 03:10 PM

I smell a last minute intervention by Sky.

Cool King 11-03-2014 03:11 PM

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

Cool King 11-03-2014 03:13 PM

We'll probably get the Canadian version after all.

Or maybe it'll be an actual TV channel over here, under the name of "Sky Sports WWE". Pretty much like what they do with Sky Sports F1, Sky Movies Disney and what they did during the Ryder Cup, with Sky Sports Ryder Cup.

Cool King 11-03-2014 03:16 PM

Personally, I would have liked an explanation for the last minute delay.

It's feels like a bit of a dick move to wait until around twenty minutes before we're due to get it, after hyping it up and with one previous delay already happened, and then pull out and pretty much say "Actually, you're not getting the network today".

XL 11-03-2014 03:29 PM

Yep. They've really mishandled the launch over here.

Cool King 11-03-2014 03:43 PM

Raw will be interesting next week though.

I don't mind Sky Sports F1, but I shudder to think what Sky Sports WWE would be like.

XL 11-03-2014 04:20 PM

I'm not paying for a Sky subscription, then the WWE Network/channel on top. No way.

I can see Sky cutting a deal though. Why would anybody pay £14.99 a month to watch on Box Office when they can get the Network for £6.25? Surely Sky would prefer the lower fee/or part of it than get nothing.

Just watched Chris Jericho's Monday Night War. Not sure how the episode was going to go down since he came into the WWF in the later stages of the War. Not enough of his stuff in WCW in the episode to show why he wanted to leave.

The Rock's episode is dropping tomorrow. Going to be a good one.

I hope they have an episode for the solely for the lower to midcard guys. Really to show that an Attitude Era card was stacked from bottom to top. Needs Steve Blackman.

Rey Mysterio will be in Buffalo for tonight's WWE RAW. Vince McMahon notified his inner circle of this over the weekend. The creative team is actively working on concepts to reintroduce him as a regular starting soon. It remains to be determined if Rey will be on television tonight. He may simply meet with officials and begin plotting his return. It should be noted that there is no guarantee that Mysterio will return to WWE television, although it appears likely. Rey Mysterio was last seen backstage at a recent Lucha Underground TV tapings in Los Angeles where the he visited friends with his son, Dominic, who has also appeared in the past on WWE TV. Rey has made it no secret that he is burned out, like CM Punk, and is looking to take a break from wrestling once his WWE contract expires in the spring. Sources say he is interested in acting in Mexico as well as doing other non-wrestling projects

We first reported last month that Jarrett met with Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff to apparently work out a deal that would allow ROH talents who are scheduled to appear on the show to remain on the card. ROH has a clause in their contracts prohibiting their talent from appearing on pay-per-views for another wrestling promotion. It appears as if that fell through as we have learned that there are some major issues with ROH talent being pulled from the Tokyo dome show.
Really bad news for ROH wrestlers since they lost out on Wrestling Kingdom 9, the pay for that event, and possibly all future NJPW related work because of ROH management.

It's still very possible that Orton misses Survivor Series, despite being expected for the Team Cena vs. Team Authority match. Orton was pulled from local advertising for the pay-per-view, which takes place in his hometown of St. Louis. It was said that there's a good chance Orton misses Survivor Series but because The Condemned 2 is a WWE movie, they can always give him a day off to work the pay-per-view.

Id watch Lucha Underground if DirecTV carried el Rey in HD. As it is, its standard def and its window boxed (black bars on all 4 sides) so the picture ends up being small as hell on my 47 inch TV. I watched the main event from the first show on YouTube and it was great.

Never mind. He plays Des Moines during Survivor Series.

What Would Kevin Do? 11-05-2014 02:06 PM

Am I crazy, or would Survivor Series be the PERFECT time to turn Cena.

Yes, I know it won't happen, but it is perfect. Have Orton be on Team Cena, just to have Cena turn on him and join the Authority, yadda yadda yadda.

But that's not why it is perfect. It is perfect because they are giving away Survivor Series for free. They could literally do the biggest heel turn of the modern era on a "free ppv" that is likely to get the most views. Ratings for the next night of Raw would sky rocket. I don't know how the ratings payoff would shake out with the merchandise drop, but still...

whiteyford 11-05-2014 02:10 PM

They have to do something big there, not much bigger than that.

Rammsteinmad 11-05-2014 03:08 PM

The problem is that every time someone has an idea to turn Cena heel, it's almost "the perfect time" to do so.

It won't happen. And it won't be perfect. And no more people would tune in the next day than those who already do.

John Cena turning heel would be pretty epic, and Randy Orton is the sort of babyface star that the company knows quite well by now. There won't be too many surprises on that front for them, which I have always felt is a big downside to putting a rising star against a heel Cena.

Dirty Sheets:

Quote:

There have been several (unconfirmed) reports that Stephanie McMahon may be pregnant, and this may be the reason for a recently added stipulation to the traditional Survivor Series elimination match.

Several posts on Twitter and social media mentioned Stephanie looked a bit “larger” around her stomach, and either she or Triple H had their arm(s) around her stomach to possibly hide this. It is speculated that this news was the reason for the stipulation at Survivor Series, which will see The Authority lose their power if they lose, and it easily writes her out of scripts.
Quote:

During an interview published last week in Fighting Spirit Magazine discussing the circumstances surrounding his departure from WWE, Alberto Del Rio claimed that it was not uncommon for people in positions of power in the Stamford, Connecticut-based organization to openly say racial remarks around employees under the guise of jokes. According to Del Rio, the remarks were frequently aimed toward African Americans and Hispanics.

According to Del Rio, the member of WWE management who notified him of his release would often make racial jokes around employees. Del Rio voiced his displeasure with this during their conversation, feeling that he should be setting a better example.

“The person calling me was one of the most important people in the company, and I said, “We always hear these racist jokes from you, and because you’re one of the most important people in the company in this company, your other employees hear you making these stupid comments, and they think they can do it,” said Del Rio. “I said, “It’s just like in my house: if my son sees me spitting on the floor, he’s gonna do it, because he’s going to think that it’s the right thing to do, because I’m the power figure in the house. In this company, it’s exactly the same: when they hear you doing these racist comments all the time, and we don’t say anything, because it is you, now those guys think they can go make those stupid comments.”

According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, who initially reported Del Rio’s interview comments, the person who Del Rio is talking about is Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative.
Basically confirming what Ricardo said about Triple H a while ago.

Quote:

According to F4WOnline.com, the WWE Tag Title match on Smackdown this week, which will be a Cage Match featuring Goldust and Stardust vs The Usos, will likely be used to setup a match for the tag team titles at Survivor Series.

As of now, it seems as if Los Matadores should be the #1 Contenders to the WWE Tag Titles, so it’s likely a title change will not happen on Smackdown this week.

Instead, the cage match will probably be used to setup what is rumored to be a multi-team WWE tag title match at Survivor Series.
Quote:

There's speculation from multiple sources that Vince McMahon's return to WWE TV this week could indicate that WWE is going forward with a major WrestleMania storyline that they had planned for this time last year. You may remember that WWE had Vince McMahon advertised for some RAW events around this time but he was later pulled and did not appear. The plan was for Vince to return and build a power struggle feud with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for WrestleMania XXX. At one point, WWE wanted to do Steve Austin vs. Triple H. That feud obviously never happened as the idea was dropped. With the recent reports of Triple H vs. The Rock being a possibility for WrestleMania 31, the speculation is that maybe they're bringing the power struggle storyline back with The Rock replacing Austin on Vince's side.
Better include some sort of hobo army for Vince.

Quote:

There's at least some speculation within WWE that Kofi Kingston and Big E will be involved in the "A New Day" gimmick with Xavier Woods. Big E and Kofi have not been featured in the new Woods vignettes that have aired.

So a rapper called Consequence released a song last month the features Mark Crozer, the guy the majority of wrestling fans know as being behind Bray Wyatt's theme.

Anyway, I couldn't help but think that either Consequence made this song and it's supposed to be about The Wyatt's, or maybe he made this song with the hopes that it would get picked up by the WWE and they would want to buy it from him, just like they did with Mark Crozer.

The lyrics seem to fit the Wyatt's far too well for the latter to just be a "coincidence", and it also has a Legion Of Doom reference in it too.

I typed up the lyrics for anyone that's interested, though the lyrics are what I hear, as the lyrics that are online, come across as being pretty wrong to me and a lot also have question marks all over them, to show that whoever typed them up wasn't 100% sure of what they heard was correct.

It's a good song though. It's been in my head for a few days now.

Quote:

He’s got the whole world in his hands
The whole world in his hands
And it’s a cold world that takes the heart of a man
So go hard as you can, as hard as you can
He’s got the world

All, all of my heroes, all of my heroes have gone away
And left me, left me here ostracised
Left me here feeling compromised
That's why there's a monster inside

He’s got the whole world in his hands
The whole world in his hands
And it’s a cold world that takes the heart of a man
So go as hard as you can, as hard as you can
He’s got the world

All, all of my faith has been drained
There’s some fears I can’t explain, I know it’s time for change
A change in me, a change the world is about to see
'cause I’ve been victimised, they're all gonna see the villain inside

He’s got the whole world in his hands
The whole world in his hands
And it’s a cold world that takes the heart of a man
So go as hard as you can, as hard as you can
He’s got the world

Sister Abigail warned me 'bout them rabbit tails
And 'em horse shoes, and 'em court rooms
Damn, we’re more doomed, than Hawk and Animal
To the point where history becomes annual
Nothing can be amicable when you're tryna stop profit
Nah, they just label you as a false prophet
And claim that you've talked to a society
Then put their FBI’s on me
I guess that irony is destroyin’ it from the inside
And this entirety, will inspire me to untie this tyranny
So there’s two choices, either hire or retire me
But there ain't no denyin’ me, we'll call the all risin' of a dynasty

He’s got the whole world in his hands
In his hands, in his hands
And it’s a cold world that takes the heart of a man
So go as hard as you can, as hard as you can
He’s got the world

Good song, lyrics make it super coincidental at best but too "cheery" for Wyatt unless they do a Mankind style thing where the happy theme plays after victories. Which they shouldn't.

Mr. Nerfect 11-06-2014 04:48 PM

I really want Curtis Axel to succeed, but I just feel like he is missing that "thing" people need. His match with Justin Gabriel was pretty good, but that's never been a concern with Axel. The running knee finish made him look more brutal and focused, but he's always had intensity when he's spoken.

I was thinking watching that match though: I wouldn't be opposed to seeing The Authority put Dolph Ziggler in an Intercontinental Title match at Survivor Series to soften him up. Use a loophole where he is obligated to defend the title or something. Ziggler and Axel can have a fifteen-minute match where Stephanie screws Dolph out of the title Montreal-style, and Axel gets a second run with the IC Title as Dolph has more reason to bring the fire in the main event.

Then I realised that would all work better with Tyson Kidd.

Mr. Nerfect 11-06-2014 04:48 PM

But if Kidd can develop a personality, why can't Axel?

Good news/Bad News about the GFW sponsored Wrestling Kingdom 9 event next year.

The good news is ROH wrestlers are being allowed to wrestle in the event and overall show time is getting cut back a bit to make it easier to watch.

The bad news is those ROH wrestlers and their matches won't be shown in the US feed and a lot of stuff might get cut to fit a 4 hour show. NJPW usually likes around 4.5 to 5 hours for their big ppvs events since it allows for some intermissions, bigger cards, and longer matches.

Quote:

The negative is the four-hour window. As anyone who watches New Japan shows knows, their big shows are usually four-and-a-half hours and Tokyo Domes closer to five hours. Given all the talent in the promotion, plus the pageantry with the long and elaborate entrances, they will have to cut back on match time to hit four hours, causing them to rush through prelims. Another question would be if they will break Japan tradition and run a show with no intermission, which at least would give them about 20 more minutes to work with, which they’ll need.
Quote:

Nothing is for sure, but we do know that Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish and the ROH champion at the time were all earmarked for the show, which was to include both ROH and NWA title defenses, besides those of the Japanese belts.

The talent expected to be on the show from ROH was told that as things stood, they would still be on the show but their match would not air on PPV into the U.S., meaning the matches (believed to be two bouts although nothing is confirmed at press time for any ROH talent on the show) would be dark matches.

Anyone else remember when WWE PPVs used to have intermissions. Halfway through it would just cut to Gene Okerlund in a studio for 15 minutes to discuss what has happened and what's coming up? Or maybe it was just WrestleMania. I don't know. I definitely remember it though. Would be so odd today to just cut to a studio for 10 minutes mid-PPV.

VSG 11-06-2014 05:49 PM

They do go to the special panel with Booker T, Alex Riley and a few others sometimes during a PPV. Is that not the same thing, except shittier?

#1-norm-fan 11-06-2014 05:55 PM

Much shittier. Thankfully it isn't for 10-15 minutes like back then though. I don't know if I could handle 15 minutes of Alex Riley talking on my TV.

Huge Maxine fan.... Behind Christian, I think Johnny Curtis and Maxine have to be way up there in wasted potential.

Whilst reading this the thought of having William Regal be a manager for Axel crossed my mind. Regal is now doing less on screen with NXT and is a fantastic mic worker.

I then had the idea that Christian could manage him. I've liked the idea of the former multi-time Tag Team Champion taking a young tag team under his wing, though.

The I realised that they already put Axel with the greatest manager alive today, and tried him in a tag team and neither really worked out.

Maybe he really is a lost cause.
