If Angle could move, I'd be into Brock vs. Angle. I could still get into the "story." Triple H and Stephanie force Angle to march to his death. It'd be a good "last match" for Angle. In theory. If Angle can't move his neck or his legs, then...yeah.

Was sad seeing him in the ring again knowing what he was like, he just looked totally out of place and very inflexible. :nono:

I mean, Cornette was under no obligation to love the guy. He could have seen the criticisms everyone else did, or disapproved of him because he came from Tough Enough. But he made a difference to the bottom line and won over Jim Cornette.

It really is bizarre. Like, even if you fell on the side that he isn't very good -- the guy should have gotten way more chances just based on his size and that he came from Tough Enough, given that they wanted to push the show so much. Even if he was awful (which I don't think anyone would objectively say he was), why wouldn't he get more shots? Why wouldn't they bring him back for a Royal Rumble spot to stand above everyone else and then get tossed out by the Braun Strowman of the time or whatever? He looked cool as shit putting Big Show through the table with the F5.

Vince has a history of needing to change guys when they come up. Cornette thought Cena was going to be a Ric Flair-style heel, so he's got to be the blue-chip babyface. Orton was going to be a babyface; let's push him as a cocky heel. Rico was going to be the all-American babyface, well, say hello to your gay stylist. Doug Basham, The Damaja, Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore -- four staples of your mid-card? Nah, say hello to twin gimps, a "French sympathizer" and your mentally challenged person. Very few guys actually came up from OVW as is. I think the only ones were MNM, thinking about it. I wonder if the need to change Morgan was something too overpowering for Vince, and Morgan was only going to work within a certain context?

The stuttering thing was just fucking stupid though. Why would you purposely give anyone a gimmick designed to give them such a laughable weakness? It'd be like giving someone a narcoleptic gimmick. It kind of symbolizes all the things I legitimately hate about the WWF/E, lol. They will actively go out of their way to make things bad sometimes. Why?

I'll start on that podcast though. Thanks for the recommendation. :y:

Your answer as to why he didn't come back for Rumble appearence and the origins of the stuttering gimmick is in the podcast. The Morgan one is my favourite so far.

I love how you keep "neg repping" us while ridiculing The Dastardly One for checking or caring for his "rep points". Definitely not butthurt or a keyboard warrior.

Lesnar is currently rumored to be interesting in working for both WWE and UFC once his current WWE contract expires.

“He wants to work with WWE and UFC. I don’t know how that’s going to happen, but if Brock does not lose the title at SummerSlam you could see him working for both WWE and UFC. Like I said, I don’t know how that works but he wants to work for both.”

Mr. Nerfect 08-08-2018 10:28 PM

Nah, Brock is going to end up in New Japan.

Mr. Nerfect 08-08-2018 10:30 PM

Seriously though, why would Brock not be offered a flexible WWE deal? He's already worked both UFC and WWE at the same time before. What would change? I think Daniel Bryan is going to angle for something flexible too, because he seems to have some "passion projects" he wants to work on, but also has his family to think about. I'm not saying he'll get it, but it wouldn't shock me to see Bryan working Wrestle Kingdom and WrestleMania next year.

Probably money and being creatively shackled for anything big involving him.

On the flip side, could see UFC be wary of him continuing working in the WWE since last time he tried to juggle both, it lead to him failing a drug test and getting suspended for a year.

Mr. Nerfect 08-08-2018 11:10 PM

Vince doesn't think of UFC as competition. He sees what he does as completely separate. I don't think that should be the case, but I don't think he cares if Brock Lesnar gets killed in an octagon as Universal Champion. It's s big, ugly fake red plastic-looking belt. UFC won't even mention it and Brock won't come to the ring if he has it.

The drug-testing is more of a reason UFC would be weary, but they also like their PPV money, and Brock is money in the UFC because he knows how to play heel and do things like beat the piss out of Mark Hunt and then test positive for PEDs.

As long as Brock is willing to make appearances and be the most over thing he's got, then I don't think he really cares what happens in the UFC.

Emperor Smeat 08-08-2018 11:30 PM

Yeah Lesnar is the biggest winner out of the three since he has less to worry about. UFC would probably be the biggest loser since any issues with Lesnar hurts WWE way less than it would with UFC.

Just having both interested in him already gives him huge leverage in talks. If I remember, he's pretty much used UFC as a trump card to bump up his WWE pay every time a new deal was being made. While Vince doesn't see UFC as competition, he also isn't that willing to give a big star for someone else to use and not get something back in return. WWE pretty much kept locking him down in yearly deals until very recently.

Nicky Fives 08-09-2018 01:19 AM

Brock brings ratings to both promotions, I'd love to be in his shoes negotiating with them both. I don't see why he can't do both, he barely appears on WWE television as it is, Vince should sign him to a per appearance deal and work it around his UFC fight camps. Brock doesn't have that many years left in either promotion, so they have to capitalize on his drawing ability sooner rather than later.
