D'Lo Brown is hilarious. I mean, the context of this is awful, but other stories involving D'Lo are great.

Matt Riddle to WWE

God dammit

Lock Jaw 07-22-2018 11:41 PM

I don't know who that is.

Apparently it is a bad thing?

Just got back from MLW Battle Riot. It was a really fun show, it will air in two weeks I think you should all give it a shot!

Greatest photo-op in the history of our sport.

He's a former MMA fighter. Only been in wrestling for a few years but I've really liked what I've seen.

And because I like what I've seen, I'm sad to see him go to WWE where interesting characters go to die.

Yesterday marked the 10-year anniversary of the official start of the WWE PG Era. It's been a long downward spiral (no pun intended) ever since...

They'd be the only team that makes sense to become the inaugural champions. They get the tag belts, have tremendous success and then their feud boils over when either they get put into a triple threat for the RAW Women's Championship or one bests the other in a #1 contender's match and one ultimately turns on the other, either to win the belt and "screw" the other out of it or out of jealousy because their partner won it.

I dunno -- I'd say things have been going down for a while since then. WWE probably hasn't had a good overall year since 2005, and that was mainly the WrestleMania season I am thinking of. Things would turn grim by the end of the year. I quite liked 2008 for the company, but that might be me cherry-picking stuff I liked to get me through.

I'm really struggling to think of the last truly good year in wrestling. Is it too selective to suggest 2013? Daniel Bryan was killing it in six-man tags against The Shield. SummerSlam 2013 was Cena vs. Bryan and Punk vs. Brock. WrestleMania drew money because you had The Rock there, even though the card felt disjointed. Maybe it's hard to call it a successful year, per se, but there was a lot of good I'd kill for now.

Mr. Nerfect 07-23-2018 07:48 AM

The WWE does not have the depth to pull off Women's Tag Team Titles.

Bad News Gertner 07-23-2018 07:49 AM

Nobody cares about Women's wrestling. They are trying to make them way more important than they are.

They might if they defend them across RAW, SD, and NXT.

But even then, I'm not sure how many actual/competitive teams there would be (haven't looked at the rosters).

If they just let Val Venis and Doug Basham main event ONE Wrestlemania, we wouldn't have to deal with this.

Maybe if they didn't suck, I wouldn't post about how much they suck?

 Real contemporary. I tried to use creative crutches because I enjoyed other stuff then too. I've obviously gotten more realistic about what I think would actually help the product, but the symptoms that cause my disenchantment are largely the same.

lol come on man.

Innovator 07-23-2018 10:37 AM

There are so many alternatives readily available for anyone to hate watch a product.

If you hate the main roster, you have NXT, Impact, ROH, NJPW, Lucha Underground, MLW all there streamed.

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-23-2018 10:40 AM

but he hates all those things.

Evil Vito 07-23-2018 10:41 AM

That stuff all sucks. Smoky Mountain Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling are the only promotions that are worth watching and still hold up now.

Bad News Gertner 07-23-2018 10:43 AM

SMW was sooooo great. I've gotta watch more OVW. From what I've seen its really great.

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-23-2018 10:48 AM

shutup Gertner.

Jordan 07-23-2018 11:18 AM

Matt Riddle to WWE... very good pick. I was hoping that Matt would’ve been the ace for ROH because aside from The Bucks and Cody that promotion is full of guys I just don’t care to see. I would’ve loved to see him get a spot in NJPW but his drug failures make that a no go. Wherever he went that isn’t WWE he could’ve been a major lead player. Not saying he can’t be that in WWE but there is always a risk that they will turn a diamond back into coal.

If you don’t know Matt, he is a combination of RVD/Kerry Von Erich and add in a shooter element to tie it all together.

They have to ride the cock of that social media "women r teh best" trend for all its worth while it's still somewhat relevant.

Jordan 07-23-2018 02:19 PM

There are certain WWE female Superstars that I get pumped to watch... Ronda/Charlotte/Bailey/Sascha/Naomi/Alexa/Nia but all of those girls require solid booking to get my interest. The NXT women have got some great talent but if they aren't put in compelling stories then I'm liable to zone out during their match.

Jordan 07-23-2018 02:20 PM

They did a solid build with Rousey/Nia/Bliss with Mickie James in there as well. Looking forward to keeping that hot and turning it into Rousey's title run.

I don't think I've actually truly cared about the Women's Division since around 2006.

There has been "little gems" in the division since, like Beth Phoenix for example but those "little gems" were around in a division that was overall, pretty bad for various reasons.

I've said this before but to me, I think the best period for the Women's Division was 2002-2006.

Did you watch the break out days of NXT with Bailey and Banks? Just curious, I think that's what got everyone else so pumped.

Fignuts 07-23-2018 02:34 PM

It all pales in comparison to classic AJW

I'm afraid I didn't.

Lock Jaw 07-23-2018 02:37 PM

Just listened to Elias' debut album on Spotify..... was a good way to kill 14 minutes.

Evil Vito 07-23-2018 02:37 PM

VIP box seats for the all-women's PPV should come with a handy from the female superstar of your choice

Innovator 07-23-2018 02:53 PM

Going by the fan bases, Alexa and Becky would have torn rotators pretty quickly
