Forgot how small normal comics are, and that not everything is extra sized like the DC Universe Rebirth special....

slik 06-16-2016 06:23 PM

I liked Batman #1

cool start

Lock Jaw 06-16-2016 07:43 PM

Just read Superman: Rebirth

Issue pretty much about saying "The New 52 Superman is dead and not coming back".... but this just seems to create an even weirder status quo.... one where Superman is pretty much a stranger (who looks the same) to all the usual supporting cast....

Lock Jaw 06-16-2016 07:55 PM

Superman #1 ok I guess.... though this "pre-Flashpoint" Superman still seems like just another "alternate reality Superman" where Superman and Lois have a son....

Also despite Rebirth's "promise" of a lighter tone....

SPOILER: show
Superman's son accidentally roasts their cat with his heat vision.... :'(

Lock Jaw 06-16-2016 08:16 PM

Enjoyed Action Comics #957..... A lot going on.... Luthor.... Superman... Clark Kent.... all present....

Also Maggie Sawyer back in charge of the SCU.... glad she is back as a Metropolis character.... never liked how the Bat-Books poached her to be a supporting Gotham character....

Lock Jaw 06-21-2016 09:08 AM

Main villain of Justice League movie confirmed to be..... Steppenwolf. :|

McLegend 06-21-2016 09:42 AM

There is a 2nd Justice League movie. So maybe Darkseid would be in that movie?

Lock Jaw 06-21-2016 07:10 PM

I would assume so..... but they could have used someone with more "name" value for the first one and just made allusions that the baddie was sent by/working for Darkseid.....

Damian Rey 2.0 06-21-2016 08:46 PM

They're probably still going to do that. Ton of details were released today after in depth set visits.

Lock Jaw 06-21-2016 08:58 PM

Yeah, and they already announced the villain as Steppenwolf.....

Damian Rey 2.0 06-21-2016 09:58 PM

How does that effect a second film featuring Darkseid?

Lock Jaw 06-21-2016 10:06 PM

My point was for the first movie to have a bigger name villain.....

Not that well known by anyone who isnt a fan or didnt watch the animated shows but I'd much prefer Granny Goodness as a lead in to Darksied

Lock Jaw 06-21-2016 11:00 PM

Yeah.... if they still wanted someone from Apokolips there are other more well known people..... I am a "big fan" of DC Comics, but honestly can't even picture Steppenwolf. Granny, Kalibak, Desaad, Kanto all conjure instant images.... Steppenwolf does not....

I guess that Steppenwolf had more of a "presence" in the "New 52" in the "Earth 2" series, though.....

Completely whiffed on that part. My bad.

Yeah I can agree with the bigger name villain. I'm thinking maybe they're more focused on having the league be the "big name". We'll see. Funny that they're already in damage control mode.

Lock Jaw 07-23-2016 12:16 PM

Apparently they have added a scene where Batman/Batgirl have sex to the Killing Joke animated movie......

Damian Rey 2.0 07-23-2016 12:30 PM

Wonderful

McLegend 07-24-2016 07:25 AM

It's causing a big controversy. Even though Bruce Timm already used them as s couple before.

Lock Jaw 07-24-2016 09:29 AM

When was that? Don't remember.....

Damian Rey 2.0 07-24-2016 10:06 AM

I think in an episode in the animated series' final season, Barbara dies in her dad's arms as batgirl. Gordon eventually calls Wayne and states he knows everything, insinuating at a relationship.

Batman Beyond hinted at it as well. But that's all I remember

Kalyx triaD 07-24-2016 11:24 AM

Yes in the DCAU Wayne/Babs is canon. It was mostly hinted to a brief thing that Wayne probably regretted.

A Batman Beyond episode and the Batwoman special movie had the biggest allusions to the pairing.

Damian Rey 2.0 07-24-2016 12:12 PM

Lol that scene was perfect. Also, Bruce had to have in his 40s there right? Banging a hot 18 year old? The God damn Batman, indeed.

Kalyx triaD 07-24-2016 07:21 PM

In the same movie he ended up with a chick who seems just a lil older than Babs.

By that movie Babs must be 20-ish. Her and Dick were established in the DCAU a bit older than their teenage comic start.

It also sells Bruce and Dick's major beef that never even got resolved in 'Beyond.

I loved the DCAU. It needed a few more seasons dammit.

Emperor Smeat 07-25-2016 06:05 PM

According to Batman series writer Tom King, Batman will be forming his own Suicide Squad-like team as part of the upcoming new storyline arriving this Fall.

She pretty much raped him in the Killing Joke....hot cartoon scene.

Lock Jaw 08-04-2016 08:08 PM

Viewed The Killing Joke. Worth it just to hear Mark Hamil singing.......

The beginning is weird because it is like a 20 minute (or so it seemed) bit focusing on Batgirl as the main character before it launches into the "real story". From there is is pretty much the comic book, and I think I would rather read it, but there are definitely cool moments (mainly hearing Mark Hamil as Joker saying some of these lines)

Sixx 08-04-2016 08:18 PM

doubt it's as graphic as the comic book, but i still wanna see it

Blonde Moment 08-13-2016 08:03 PM

BLAH

Lock Jaw 08-13-2016 08:24 PM

What does that mean

Blonde Moment 08-13-2016 09:01 PM

thought this was a family guy skit for a second there

slik 08-18-2016 02:49 PM

I will watch that 100%

Wishbone 09-30-2016 04:54 PM

So apparently Wonder Woman is gay according to the writer who's taking over her comic (DC themselves are saying she's bi so they don't have to change the stuff in the movies apparently.) Cue the overreactions from people who haven't even read comics in years/never read Wonder Woman to begin with.

Lock Jaw 09-30-2016 09:49 PM

Already an overreaction, because he never said that she was gay. More like the whole concept just doesn't exist to her.

Blonde Moment 09-30-2016 10:23 PM

On an Island where no one but women are allowed what is expected?
My expectations is that she is Demisexual.

-an individual who does not experience sexual attraction unless they have formed a strong emotional connection with another individual. Often within a romantic relationship.

Lock Jaw 09-30-2016 10:23 PM

Maybe dating Superman put her off of men
