Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:36 PM

Puke Hogan literally ripping a blood-soaked Iraqi flag in half. What a crazy time.

One thing I've been noticing about this era looking back is how when people get pinned, they still tend to kick out a little AFTER the three count, like they were still trying. Seems more realistic. I'd like to see more of that sort of thing today.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:38 PM

There was some not very attractive chick in a blue dress who was both crying her eyes out at the Savage/Elizabeth reunion and going crazy when Hogan won. I'm sure that night was the time of her life, and my heart smiles for her. Whoever she is.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:39 PM

WM8 starting now. Looking forward to Flair/Hogan and Papa Shango being right on time.

Puke Hogan?

Shit, ABT, are you now an 8 year old?

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:41 PM

Hennan calling Reba McIntyre Tito Santana's siter. "Arriba McIntyre". What a legend.

That's what Slaughter was calling him throughout this feud. I was seven at the time though, yes.

Ha!

Damn, I'm good.

Slaughter so good with words.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 01:46 PM

I'm not sure anything in life will ever make me as happy as hearing Bobby Heenan marking out for HBK and whistling his theme song. Really did SO much for helping him get over, I think.

Also, here's Sherri being a legend again. Soooooo good.

My age follows the Wrestlemanias. It's a nice setup for such a big fan. I'm 35 now, but it'll be Wrestlemania 35 before I'm 36, ya know?

The Ultimate puke doing the ultimate puke!!

I found this terribly unsettling at the time. The Warrior was my absolute favorite. Papa Shango was spooky AF.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:01 PM

Undertaker's second WM match against Jake Roberts. Lemme see how this holds up.

Its seen by a lot of people as a selfish face saving move by the person eating the pin.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:03 PM

"You know how Paul Bearer got that urn? The old fashioned way. He EARNED it!"

God damn it

I think it could depend on the finish. Kicking out of a roll up as such as opposed to a finisher, maybe.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:05 PM

Saying this as I watch the Undertaker sit up after a DDT from Jake Roberts. No idea why he didn't cover right away.

Yes, I know I'm the only one watching this right now. Maybe in the world.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:06 PM

Man, Jake could have ended the streak at one win had he just made a fucking cover.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:08 PM

Oh snap, I almost forgot about Piper v. Hart on this card too. I might end up watching this whole show.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:09 PM

Man, Piper was the best promo.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2018 02:14 PM

Heenan mentioning taking Bret Hart out back and waffling him with a tire iron. I wonder if Christopher Walken remembers this match.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-23-2018 02:17 PM

That's one of my favorite Bret matches and Heenan was gold the whole match.

"Oh great. Two ugly people staring at each other".

Heenan has been killing me.

The most unsettling thing i've EVER seen in wwe was the Tommy Dream, Undertaker spit cup segment. Even undertaker looked like he was legitimately ready to throw up at one point. The most unsettling part is this segment looked entirely legit. The fucking cup was clear so not many ways of faking it. :nono:

#1-norm-fan 06-23-2018 04:51 PM

There are definitely ways they could have faked it. Not sure if they did though. Dreamer may just give 0 fucks.

Cool King 06-23-2018 05:10 PM

I was pretty into Dreamer around that time.

I vividly remember him drinking Undertaker's tobacco spit, but I also remember a vignette of him sharing a toothbrush with his dog.

Helmsphere 06-23-2018 05:13 PM

And I remember him drinking whatever that crap is they drip combs in at a barber shop

Barbicide is toxic so presumably it was some other type of liquid.

The liquid in the cup didn't look like dip spit to me. Taker taking his dip out and putting it in the cup was pretty real though. Shop teacher in high school would make you drink your spit bottel if he found it or you dipping. Seen a few have to do that.

Am watching Living Dangerously '99 and it's great. The RVD/Lynn match was very much structured like an Omega/Okada match. So far everything else is good too, which is rare usually when I watch ECW I just see the flaws. But the work in the matches is good and Joey Styles is great at carrying the story.
