But I have a weird feeling about New Day. It's the one that would get people talking short-term most and if WWE doesn't have a specific plan that requires someone having the MITB case, then throwing it on the one that will make people say "What the fuck..." seems like the WWE thing to do.

Also a random Big E main event push would be kind a breath of fresh air. If Jinder fucking Mahal could get one out of the blue, why not Big E. It's only Smackdown. Fuck it.

Do you watch old WWF events every time there's a live WWE event going on? Because that's what I imagine now.

Like "Oh, there's WWE B PPV on right now? Fuck that shit. Gonna go watch some Don Muraco matches and pretend wrestling is still awesome for 3 hours instead."

I usually watch it at night before bed. I'll pop on a random House Show from the early to mid 80's and watch for an hour or so.

Been making my way through this 1986 WWF show in Detroit that I haven't seen before. Tito Santana vs Bob Orton Jr is currently on.

You ever venture into classic NWA?

Not really. I don't think I watched any WCW until 98 and I had been watching the WWF since 87. I had no idea who Ric Flair even was when he came to the WWF in like late 91. I go back and watch matches but never full shows.

Sweet fucking Main Event by the way: WWF Champ Hulk Hogan vs IC Champ Randy Savage. Really good show, despite Jack Reynolds being atrocious on commentary.

The thing about predicting WWE nowadays is that it's futile because very little needs to make sense, but even more to their detriment, perhaps, is that nothing matters. If Kofi Kingston had won Money in the Bank, would it have done anything to hurt the gimmick anymore? Does it matter that Ronda wins by DQ on PPV and has to sell for a fitness model with only slightly more experience? Not really.

Nothing's special, so literally anyone could have won.

Styles vs. Joe, Bryan vs. Nakamura, New Day vs. Sanity and Harper & Rowan vs. Rusev Day at Extreme Rules are all interesting possibilities. SmackDown has this tendency to position everyone wrong though.

They could have always had her come up later. They just don't know what they're doing. They probably wanted to have them go against New Day from the start, but then decided they wanted to use New Day heading into Money in the Bank as the token black guys to promote as being in there. But now that Vince has decided he wants to push Big E, they could be put to the backburner for a while yet or debut on 205 Live, Raw or Main Event. How wacky? Look at how wacky they are.
