I'm still putting my money on HHH but to be honest I'm probably wrong.... and yeah I think it's gone WAAAAAYYYYY to long now, and really wasn't ever that great IMO. Well except for when Edge killed it and it was screaming "Help me Cole, do something!" that was pretty freakin' funny

Exactly.

It is HHH, seriously, the IWC hasn't caught on yet? But yeah in this era it has gone on longer than expected.

Come on this is Mick Foley we're talking about. He'll be back eventually, either for a one off, for some short skits, for commentating or at least for a Hall of Fame appearance.

This is the wrestling industry, Mick Foley will one day be back in the WWE, whether it's next week, next year, within the next five years or the next twenty, he will be back.

It wasn't that he didn't like being a commentator. He hated getting yelled at through the headphones by Vince.

But I see Mick Foley returning to WWE as an ambassador/agent, and for his HoF induction. But not for another run as a wrestler.

Xero 01-09-2011 03:01 PM

He'll be back for an angle or two, no doubt, and the Hall of Fame.

As a regular? No. He's done being a regular. And he won't go back to announcing. I COULD see him getting in the ring one more time the year he goes into the Hall of Fame, but otherwise it'll be to do an angle with someone and maybe be a guest ref.

He's clearly on great terms with WWE, considering they plugged his book a few months ago.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-09-2011 03:19 PM

I don't think they have any plans to reveal the GM anytime soon. I think they like the mystery of it and how over it is getting Michael Cole as a heel.

I LOL'd @ "paperview"

El Tigre 01-09-2011 04:23 PM

Can't say I have an opinion on who the GM may be, but I do believe that this whole arc will persist for the foreseeable future.

The reason being is because I think they will try to stretch it out until the inevitable return of Jericho. That way his arrival could be due to him finding out the GM's identity since before he left he announced that he had obtained the IP address.

This would not only help tie up any loose ends, but also revive some energy into a scenario that has long since lost its steam.

Schlomey 01-09-2011 04:26 PM

Yeah I was annoyed with the GM thing there for a hot minute, but not anymore. It isn't over used anymore and on top of that it is adding nice fuel to the crowds hatred of Cole. God I love Cole.

BizarroKing 01-09-2011 04:53 PM

Only as a member of the HOF but I could be wrong.

Mr. Nerfect 01-09-2011 05:05 PM

It's merely a device. Having the General Manager serve as an anonymous presence allows them to alternate between a face and a heel, depending on what mood the WWE is in. They will put a face to the role one day, but it's not needed right now.

Xero 01-09-2011 05:24 PM

Was looking through the USPTO, and it seems that WWE still holds WCW as a separate entity, officially "WCW, Inc". The Stamford address is WWE's HQ, and funnily enough Google lists it as "XFL".

How about...Taker vs. Cactus Jack in a HIAC for Taker's 20th win in a row at Wrestlemania?

It might not be as fun to watch as it was way back when...but Foley will still take the bumps, I'm sure.

Anyway, I'd like this as a good send off for both guys. In theory, I think its a great idea, but I don't think it will happen.

Just a thought.

Anyway, we have not seen the last of Foley in WWE. If he wants one last WWE match, WWE will find something for him.

I want it to be Cole. Not because that'd make for a good reveal but because I think he'd be incredible as a heel GM abusing his power.

Xero 01-09-2011 07:33 PM

I'm kind of afraid that Matt is legitimately insane. What's the over/under on him being sent to the loony bin?

TheAdamEvansFan 01-09-2011 07:35 PM

Could he surpass Regal, Coachman, or Vickie as a Heel GM in regards to heat?

Also, I'd mark out if it was Regal to reclaim his "rightful position" on Raw. As his time as a wrestler comes to a slowing phaize, he has been given a unique leadershop role that he once called his own.

That'd be LEGIT.

VSG 01-09-2011 07:36 PM

I don't think he is insane, just ridiculously delusional. He will hit reality once he finds himself in the TNA midcard feuding with Brian Kendrick over custody of nothing.

It's quite obvious what TNA are planning to do.

Matt debuts and joins Immortal. Everything is cool and TNA jizz's at the fact that they have The Hardy Boyz, and then at around Slammiversary time, Matt turns on Jeff and becomes a face and they have a match for the <s>TNA Championship</s> TNA Immortal Championship.

If not at Slammiversary, because that's too far away, then it'll be at Destination X.

He's working people. At least in his own mind anyway. Anything Matt Hardy related in print is the same Matt Hardy that was respected for years, that people saw as a shoe in to be a WWE guy for life, a potential agent down the line. He talks sense, rationality etc. Put him in front of a camera and he turns into psycho. I actually thought when he first started acting a loon, following people around and hiding etc, that there was potential for 'weird Matt Hardy' to transfer to his TV character. In a WWE television show environment, they could have done something with it. However they didn't and he's basically that much of a mark for himself that he's continued playing crazy while everybody laughs at him and he sits back laughing at other people because 'lol look how I've worked them' despite achieving nothing whatsoever with it. He's like Vince Russo in WCW on a much smaller scale.

No worries as I appreciated the effort.

I think Matt's at a point where he buys into himself way too much. I don't think he's going anywhere in TNA. Off the bat, a feud with his brother, and then possibly a top title run, but after that, he's just going to get lost in the shuffle like he did in WWE. Maybe even worse.

even though I may not quite agree, its still a phenomenal drunken rant. Plus Kevin Nash is fucking wicked.

1. Foley will not still take those kinds of bumps... it would literally kill him
2.In theory its a terrible Idea... shit even there originally HIAC match where Undertaker threw Mankind off the cell was not a great match.. it just had some wicked awesome bumps in it.

FUCK MATT HARDY

Grablot 01-10-2011 10:42 AM

No doubt no doubt yo that we gonna see him in some position in the company in the future? As a wrestler? No chance in hell, hes too beat up to wrestle anymore but as a on air character, like a gm or something or as a commentator, that we will probably see. I dont see Foley sticking around in that dump they call TNA for long.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-10-2011 10:49 AM

What does the white dot mean in rep? It wasn't green nor red.

It's "neutral", those with red rep can't give or take rep points. You wouldn't trust them with sharp objects so you don't trust them with rep powers.

I'm not one for merch, but this shirt is fucking sick.

Xero 01-10-2011 04:27 PM

I hear they're releasing a Nexus version of Punk's current shirt. Yellow with the armband. It's debuting on RAW tonight.

If I had the money there are a few WWE shirts I'd get. Depending on how Punk's new shirt looks, I may be inclined to invest.

Xero 01-10-2011 04:41 PM

Yeah, I'm waiting to see it. I'm either getting that or the regular one.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-10-2011 04:45 PM

I already got the We Are One shirt and now Barrett is out. This time I'm gonna wait to see how long Scar stays as the leader of the Nexus after taking out King Mufasa.

taker707 01-10-2011 04:49 PM

WWE has announced that they will name the first member of the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame class tonight on RAW.

Who will go in first . WWE is claiming its a blockbuster annoucement. Sting maybe?

Xero 01-10-2011 04:50 PM

lol yeah it's Sting.

I don't really care about the affiliation, just care about the design. It could look like shit.

Okay yeah if that's the design I might jump on it.

Source? I would imagine they would announce him at the end. Maybe someone like AA or the 4 Horsemen?

Yeah, I'm guessing it will be Arn Anderson. I hope somebody rips Bischoff and the nWo a new asshole at the Hall of Fame for the way they treated his retirement.

Jake the Snake - He is retiring from in ring action for good really soon and this would be the icing on the cake that was his career....ending his pro wrestling days with an induction would really make me feel good for him.

Schlomey 01-10-2011 07:26 PM

I am sick of Mick Foley in general. I loved him for a long time but anymore could care less what he does and the last thing I want him to do is fill a slot at Mania.

CSL 01-10-2011 07:28 PM

Yes I do.

CSL 01-10-2011 07:37 PM

He's retired a couple of times over the last 2-3 years. We'll see.

Triple Naitch 01-10-2011 08:32 PM

My money's on Goldberg.

Xero 01-10-2011 08:34 PM

Here's the problem with Punk in Nexus: I only care about Punk. If/when he leaves, I will not care about Nexus.

Xero 01-10-2011 08:36 PM

Are they really going to announce the big one right off the bat? I'd think they'd start with a semi-known, but not top star.

The top star this year has to be pretty big, since they're in an arena for the HOF. Either Warrior or Savage. Probably Savage.

As for tonight, I'm betting on someone people care about, but wouldn't exactly be a deal breaker. I'll agree with Arn Anderson, or possibly Ron Simmons.

CSL 01-10-2011 08:36 PM

I'd say that's less of a problem and more of the reason Punk's been put in that spot.

Schlomey 01-10-2011 08:36 PM

to be honest...did anyone care about nexus apart from Wade Barrett? They are a collective unit of drones without much on screen personality. It is not our fault we don't care about them individually.

The problem being that if Nexus didn't exist it wouldn't matter. After this is done, unless they do something really drastic to change the way the group works (which I doubt they will) they're still going to be a bunch of guys who went no where and Punk being there is only a way to prevent the inevitable dissolve of Nexus into obscurity for a few months.

You're right, it's WWE's fault. I could have bought Nexus on a whole as something, as there are quite a few decent talents in it, especially now. But now? No. The angle has been going far too long and should just end.

I could easily see Punk, down the line, weeding a few guys out (namely, everyone but Perfect Jr. and Husky) and making them the new SES.
