No. That guy was some obnoxious Youtuber with a wrestling toy show or something. Conrad is quite likeable.

I never knew Blacha wrote for WWE, that explains why him and Will Sasso acted the way they did on Ten Minute Podcast

This is the one where he says his first interaction with bret was telling him owen had died.

Yikes what a moron. On his podcast he said his first interaction with Bret was in 1996 when they met in LA for beers. So, he signed Bret to a contract and then never spoke with him (1997) and then never talked to him for two years (1999.)

Waiting for The B-Team to fully turn face when they win the Tag Team Championships.

Evil Vito 06-07-2018 03:35 PM

Yeah, I expect they will win them. Wyatt's gonna turn on Matt so we can get yet another boring match between them at the next PPV.

The B Team will infiltrate the Hardy compound, leading to Bo falling into the lake and being possessed by Sister Abigail

I enjoy Conrad’s podcasts, but Cornette’s are the best.

Seems Jeff Hardy might be dealing with a similar health issue that Jason Jordan recently had.

Hardy wrestled at the live events over the weekend and he wrestled in a dark match after 205 Live on Tuesday night. The match was kept short and he teamed with Daniel Bryan and faced Big Cass and The Miz.

Fans that have seen Hardy in recent weeks have remarked that he seems to be in pain during his matches. This sounds similar to what Jason Jordan was dealing with back in January. He tried to work through it but ended up getting surgery.

Of course Roman Reigns was part of one of the panels WWE trotted out and of course he got booed?

Watching this week's RAW. This is one of the most awkward episodes I've ever seen.

A Conrad/Cornette podcast in the same "one subject" style of Conrad's other podcasts could be amazing. Though I wonder if their "no bullshit" personalities would cancel each other out. Conrad is at his best when he's calling out Prichard for being a WWE kiss ass or calling out Schiavonne for not remembering shit/not being entertaining enough. I don't know where he and Cornette would find something to clash on.

slik 06-07-2018 09:24 PM

Even though I've complained about WWE RAW a lot the last few weeks there is one fantastic decision they made I overlooked: We haven't seen No Way Jose in a long time!

If I hadn't watched I probably would have thought the internet was exaggerating but nope, it was weird and just 'not good'.

What Happened When is the best Conrad podcast. I was never into NWA/JCP but I still listen to the shows because Tony is great

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-07-2018 10:25 PM

I'm glad they moved his show. Too many podcasts dropping on Mondays.

He's funny and he doesn't lie. Can't say the same for Prichard and EasyE.

#1-norm-fan 06-07-2018 10:37 PM

Yeah Tony comes across as a genuine guy and someone I would have a beer with. Even when he discussed Bobby Heenan’s beef with him which was super heated, he took responsibility and owned it.

Bret may over state his ability (particularly drawing potential) but he at least tells the damned truth. You always praise Meltzer for “getting it right” and he almost 100 p backs Bret on everything.

It's as good as Dr. Amann filing a defamation suit for emotional distress because his cranberry sauce tasted yucky because of mean tweets from Mike Litoris

Jim Cornette insulted Dana Loesch again and the right wing brigade is losing their shit. Tremendous.

WWEShop are selling yet another Roman Reigns T-Shirt, just a week after putting another Roman Reigns T-Shirt up for sale.

I can only assume that we'll see another Roman Reigns T-Shirt within a week, or a week and a half at the most.

THE BIG DOG

Heisenberg 06-08-2018 04:03 PM

Welcome to Monday Night RAW where the fans will cheer the bad guys and boo the heroes like THE BIG DOG ROMAN REIGNS OOOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Vastardikai 06-08-2018 05:38 PM

If the heels didn't have a point with their protestations, maybe they wouldn't be cheered.

But the thing is this isn't a feminist-friendly company. They do business deals with Saudi Arabia, don't pay their women as much as the men in a company where they claim they are "equal" (I'm not saying that as performers they are, that's just company narrative) and you still get the sense the company keeps some around because they are hot. Their feuds are still based on hair-pulling and mean nicknames. High school drama, because girls love #HighSchoolDrama.

Mr. Nerfect 06-08-2018 08:27 PM

Conrad Thompson has done well for himself. I don't have any ill will towards him, but his podcasts just have this ring of "let's suck up under the guise of telling it like it is." I can't believe how successful Bruce's bullshit is. Tony is a funny guy, but there was so much "I don't remember," "WWF was always better -- I should have stayed there." I refuse to listen to Bischoff's. I like Bischoff as a performer, but as a person he is so full of shit. The company fell apart in such a public way that I don't think there is much left to say. Bischoff sold the company's soul to the devil in order to buy a few huge years with Hogan and the nWo, and then things turned ironic.

Russo can just fuck off forever, thanks. I get so infuriated when I hear people actually defend him like it's not a myth that has been completely busted. The worst is that you can't reason with people like that, because it's such an unreasonable position. But there are still people who credit Russo as the mastermind behind the WWF's success, and some even go as far as to credit him for 2000 as well, because he "planned ahead." I also get annoyed by the "he seems like a nice guy" narrative when he has tried to fuck over everybody he has worked with to get himself into position. Which would just be office politics if he didn't deny being that sort of person. He's also a misogynistic, homophobic piece of shit. Grrr, he angers me so fucking much! I seriously want to start a "Fuck Vince Russo" thread and just post in it every couple of weeks about what a piece of shit this guy is. The dude actually wrote a book that included phrases about how hard the business has been on his family, and it's still his fucking chosen profession as he sooks about how wrestling hurts his kids.

I've been listening to Cornette's podcasts more frequently recently. I don't disagree with Cornette on much politically, but I prefer it when he talks about wrestling, because that's why I listen. But fuck me if his promo on the right-wing wasn't fucking hilarious this week. The guy's magic on the mic. One of those comedy news shows should hire him to do a segment where he chimes in like those 1997 Raw ones but for politics.

Cornette occasionally focuses on one subject with his "deep dives." I like Brian's questions too. But I would like to see Cornette do a "go through the Observer" look at the WWF during the Attitude era or something like that. I'd like to hear more specifics on how Russo was full of shit, or how things were supposed to go. The WWE narrative is kind of that they got to 1998 and then they were great and everything was sunshine and roses, and there isn't really anyone to give an honest take on the creative process. JR is someone that could shine a lot of light too.

I'd actually like to hear a Cornette/Shiavone podcast, with Shiavone playing more of the apologist and Cornette slapping down the silly.

Assuming WWE still hasn't done it, the worst might be promising their women's division an extra paycheck because of the Saudi mess and not actually giving it to them so far.

Mr. Nerfect 06-08-2018 08:29 PM

The SCG Radio Timelines are really good for the Attitude era stuff, to be honest. I recently went back and listened to them all again. It's crazy how obvious certain things are when you go back and really look at the period. But it'd be cool to get one with an insider.
