Shocking that they aren't showing any Smackdown episodes to really show off Kevin Dunn's cutting edge work on Windows Movie Maker. Those Emmy voters would eat that shit up.
|
When the word "Rockstar" scrolled across the screen during Nakamura's entrance in order to inform the audience that he was a rock star, television as we know it changed forever.
Walking Dead is sure to get their own copy of Windows Movie Maker next season so they can have "SCARY" scroll across the screen during zombie attacks. |
I do enjoy how WWE can't let anything be organic. Shinsuke didn't become a "rockstar" or w/e the fuck they decided he was in Japan because he told everyone he was. It's incredible how even the slightest hint of subtlety is completely lost on such an overwhelmingly successful entity.
"YOU'LL LIKE WHO I TELL YOU TO LIKE"- Vince McMahon |
It's like the episode of Seinfeld where George awkwardly tries to force the nickname "T-Bone" on himself. WWE literally has the self-awareness of an out of touch sitcom character.

Supposedly Bruce Prichard recently pissed off the WWE to the point they delayed this week's episode of his Network podcast show for editing reasons.
This week is supposed to be about WWE's version of ECW and WWE didn't like some of the stuff mentioned in the show since it cast their handling of the brand in a bad light. Quote:

Lol half of it is lies since it's coming from Bruce anyways
|
Half is pretty generous. I think we can go for 80-90% of it being lies.
|
Bruce also sucks WWE's collective dick every chance he gets though. How bad does something have to be to where he can't even bullshit his way to making WWE sound good?
|
I don't get listening to a wrestling history podcast when it's just history made up by Bruce to fit his narrative?
|
I still listen because Conrad calls him out on his bullshit a lot which evens things out a little. Though even that was toned down on the WWE Network episode I watched. Seemed like Conrad was sure to make some "sneaky" references to Bruce kissing HHH's ass just to show they weren't selling out or anything but for the most part, he was much less confrontational.
|
From what I've heard from others, Conrad doesn't call him out as much as he used to, due to Conrad being too busy to do his own research anymore

Conrad pretty much just implies Bruce is lying about everything.

Recently listened to an edge and christian podcast with a former writer who went on to co create metalocalypse and it was hilarious. Best podcast out there right now.

83 weeks is literally Conrad going "The Observer/wrestler said this happened" and Bischoff going "I don't remember but that sounds like it could have happened/I don't remember but a lot of wrestlers make up stories to babyface themselves"
He's actually worse than Bruce that he doesn't even 100% commit to his lies. Just says he doesn't remember. I still enjoy parts of it because I like how he talks about his business methods (particularly when the company was turning a profit) but Conrad really has a hard time getting these guys to even slightly tell the truth. |
It's so fucking bad.
|
I have a 4 hour car ride tomorrow with a guy who thinks Bruce and Conrad are the greatest thing ever. He also listens to Russo's podcast. 4 hours with a reddit WWE fan. If you hear of a body getting thrown out of a car on the 401 I may need a place to hide.
|
Honestly, I respect Conrad for the marketing efforts of Something to Wrestle With. The show is what it is. Podcasting is actually what wrestling used to be...guys committing 100% to their characters and working the marks (WWE Reddit fans) and building a fan base. That's why all these old timers are doing so well with it.
I digress... my respect for Conrad is he was able to take someone as irrelevant as Bruce Prichard and rejuvenate his career into something better than when he was in the business. And honestly, it's all Conrad--whether he's a money mark or not (which he probably is lol). A lot of the marketing/advertising can come off as annoying, but the die hards fucking love it. |
Think about it. As irritating "Make it a shirt" shit is, all the shirts fucking sell! Like... come on!

You would think he would recall this but apparently doesn't, near sure i've heard him flip flop saying it didn't happen in one interview and "i don't recall" in another. There's one other interview out there where he says his first interaction with Bret was at an airport waiting to tell him the news that Owen had died, thats ignoring the fact he signed with wcw much earlier than that and he had been with them several months, if not close to a year before that. |

Is Conrad that fat dude who likes toys or is that someone else?
|
He's certainly a fat guy. Could see him liking toys too lol
He got his start w/ Ric Flair's podcast. Moved onto doing Bruce's podcast (which has found resounding success despite its abundant lack of credibility) and Tony Schiavone's podcast (I like Tony, seems like a sweet guy). Now he's doing a podcast with Eric Bischoff which lacks even more cred than Bruce's, and will surely be more successful somehow. |

This is the one where he says his first interaction with bret was telling him owen had died. |
Looking forward to Sanity debuting on Smackdown in 2021.
