I want them to go up obviously but the future is hard to call really. We need to go up for financial reasons but to be honest 4th bottom would be a real achievement in the Premiership what with having potentially little transfer funds. Mick has done a fantastic job getting a group of players together without spending much money an making them a decent team in a very poor division where no team has any consistency. It would be hard to see where we would get the points from to stay up, outside the obvious 6 points we'd get against Newcastle.

Dundee United will get relegated then lose a cup final all in the space of a week. :D That's gonna be a good week.

Yeah,I bet all the Arabs will blame Ian McCall for it.

Wengerland 04-10-2005 02:57 PM

fuck, Real Madrid 4-2 Barcelona.

Top game though, still 6 points clear but really bad defending, Valdes was pretty poor too when called upon :(

Rob 04-10-2005 03:01 PM

I don't know how people can say Owen is shit.

Wengerland 04-10-2005 03:06 PM

Yeah, people go really overboard on the criticism of Owen, though it's quite annoying how he can be awesome for Madrid and then miss bagloads in England games.

PSIcological 04-10-2005 03:46 PM

could have done with leicester holding on against Brighton :-\

oh well, beating burnley 1-0 was all we needed and now we're climbing up the division. I reckon the mighty gills will be safe if we cand beat crewe next week

The Madrid-Barca game was pretty good to watch too. it'll be interesting to see how the season finishes now.

packt up 04-10-2005 05:16 PM

The Spurs Newcastle game was one of the worst games I've seen this season (and not just cos we lost and we played like 11 bags of shit)

The Real Barca game was some of the most sublime attacking footy that I've ever seen.

So it balanced out.

Dazz 04-10-2005 08:17 PM

Samuel Eto'o's goal was pretty good, just from the amount of effort and pace he used.

Wengerland 04-11-2005 06:00 AM

Eto'o's possibly out for the season with that knee injury now, bollocks :'(

-edit- It's just been said that it's not as bad as first feared and he'll only be out for 10 days

Mr. Monday Morning 04-11-2005 12:17 PM

Stevie Gerrard is out of the Juve game :$:$:'(

He is also England's third top all time goalscorer. People are quick to forget that.

:-\

We're gonna lose anyway, we might as well have an excuse

That said, we play better WITHOUT him, guys like Biscan raise their games when Gerrard isn't around, and Xabi will be back as well.

PSIcological 04-11-2005 12:46 PM

the thing with Owen is, he is a really good player but then he can suffer from dry spells and everyone starts to doubt him. Then he'll go and score loads again. I guess my point is he is a good player but he needs more games at Madrid and more goal scoring consistency

The Mackem 04-11-2005 05:02 PM

Cheers MMM :cool::y:

Danny Electric 04-11-2005 09:30 PM

:(
Stevie G
We're going to lose now. An unfit Xabi and Biscan in the middle. Why do injuries have to fuck us over.

Wengerland 04-12-2005 05:56 AM

Cisse's back in the squad though, should play some part according to Benitez ;)

Will Liverpool make it a clean sweep and win the European Cup?

I do hope 'Pool win it actually purely because they'll abuse Utd for years over it.

Cactus Sid 04-12-2005 09:22 AM

Fucking hell, every time they pull stats like that out you KNOW Liverpool are gonna lose

I couldn't give a toss if they won it. Rather them than Chelsea actually.

Thats crazy shit and on one hand I do hope they win to shove it in Utd face but I doubt they'll beat juvi.

I hope it doesn't happen, but 6 months from a double broken leg? No way. There's gotta be something up.

Cactus Sid 04-12-2005 03:20 PM

Another goal for Chelsea when something should've been done about it, lucky deflection of Lucio, and looks like they are through.

Milan are 1 up against Inter, so they're through as well

Let's be fair Rob you don't exactly reflect the majority of Utd opinion very often :p

Wengerland 04-12-2005 03:40 PM

Come on Inter :(

3 defeats in a season and all to your major rivals would be gutting.

Actually its a typical United reaction, they hate whoever does better than them, hence the whole Arsenal/Man Utd thing escalating.

To be honest (and look at me standing up for Man U fans  ) but its the same for everyone. A big reason why so many people hate Man U in the first place is because they are/were so succesful.

packt up 04-12-2005 04:07 PM

1-1 now in Bayern shades of offside but I'm happy cos it makes it more exciting.

And Bayern have to be the worst diving team I've ever seen - all over the place they are going down.

Cactus Sid 04-12-2005 04:16 PM

Pretty disgraceful scenes in the Inter/Milan game

Dida just got hit by a flare, and the goalmouth is full of them

Doesn't bode well for tomorrow :(

LK 04-12-2005 04:26 PM

Seems that about 50 odd flares were thrown on the pitch and engulfed Dida's goal in smoke and he was hit.

Cactus Sid 04-12-2005 04:28 PM

Chelsea are through

Game at San Siro's been suspended for now

LK 04-12-2005 04:29 PM

Just seen the flare hitting and he was remarkably lucky that it hit him on the shoulder. If I was Milan I would refuse to play on.

Utd fans not caring if Liverpool won the European Cup though? Can't see that somehow.
