Its an own goal then

Dazz 04-07-2005 11:12 AM

Well I haven't seen a proper replay showing where it was headed, but if it was going off target then yes, it will be changed to an own goal.

Cactus Sid 04-07-2005 11:34 AM

I'm sure it was heading wide

Dazz 04-07-2005 12:45 PM

Joey deserves a goal, I hope he keeps it.

If rules are rules, Drogba was offside and interfering with play.

I have spoken.

WOOO 1-0

Well done Pool/Chelsea

I don't agree with you there. Not our fault though, the rules on offside are so messed up. It's hard to know how to interpretate them.

Wengerland 04-08-2005 03:51 PM

Drogba was offside though, and in the line of the shot, so it could easily have been disallowed to be fair, i thought that has been the same in each set of offside laws tbh. The laws have been fucked about with too much though, so it gets confusing from time to time.

Chelsea game was pretty good and i don't think Bayern really would've deserved to lose by 3 goals, as wrong as the penalty was.

Newcastle's game was quite poor though, i can see them scraping through now Sporting will be without Liedson for the second leg, AZ or Villareal (probably AZ) against Newcastle would be difficult to call though.

Danny Electric 04-08-2005 05:12 PM

AZ aren't too strong a side.

Had the shot not deflected and the goalie parried it out, Drogba would be offside. So he's offside.

I don't give a toss really. But it still should have been offside. You get some decisions (like this one) and you miss out on others (like the soft penalty).

I'm off to Brighton tomorrow morning to see City, we better win, and it better not piss it down, bloody open away ends.

Lol, are they getting a new stadium or what? That campaign seems to have been going on for years now.

I haven't seen a replay other then on the big screen at the Bridge, but I agree with you, I thought he was intefereing with play. Regardless of if he touched it, he was still interfering.

Cactus Sid 04-09-2005 09:27 AM

Mackem, your fans are shit

Yes they are, or at least they have a superb coach.

2nd in the Dutch league, above Ajax. Can't remember who they've knocked out to get so far in Europe but they've just won at Villareal, who are solid at home (beat Barcelona 3-0, drew with Real Madrid and very rarely lose) so they're pretty formidable, Newcastle shouldn't under-estimate them if they meet in the semis.

Danny Electric 04-09-2005 10:48 AM

2nd in the Dutch leage means nothing these days. Really doesn't, I know they shouldn't be under-estimated but the Dutch lleague is weak.

packt up 04-09-2005 10:52 AM

AZ whooped Ajax away not too long ago like 3-0 or something and therefore have my respect. But I'd still prefer them over Villareal.

WOOO MUSAMPAAAAA

Cactus Sid 04-09-2005 12:16 PM

Well done lads, Everton have given us chance after chance, and we keep fucking up

Danny Electric 04-09-2005 12:27 PM

The current Ajaz side, apart from a few players aren't exactly strong either. I don't blame Van De Vaart for wanting to leave.

Danny Electric 04-09-2005 12:28 PM

Oh and yeah, what's going on.
As it's been said for most the season.
Two different sides, one in the leage and one in the Champs League.

The Mackem 04-09-2005 12:28 PM

Got beat :'(

Wengerland 04-09-2005 12:50 PM

Lost ANOTHER lead, stupid sending off for Hughesy cost us by the sounds of it.

Yo Mackem do you want your team to go up? I remember seeing somethin on the tele about you Mackems being a bit scared of coming up this time or something and that you all weren't very optimistic or something :(. Surely you fancy another stab at the mighty Newcastle??

Just got back home from Brighton. We were awful, DeVries was back to his usual form, Hughes in no way deserved to be sent off and all in all, we didn't deserve our point.

Blaming the ref always sounds biased, but in the second half all a Brighton player had to do was slip on his arse to win a free kick.

The only stand out effort came from Lilian Nalis who had a great shot cleared off the line by a Brighton defender.

Several times DeVries had a chance to shoot on goal and decided to lay it off to a winger, I'M TALKING RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BLOODY GOAL WITH ONLY THE KEEPER TO BEAT, AND HE PASSES IT WIDE INSTEAD OF SHOOTING.

Mike the Metal Ed 04-09-2005 03:47 PM

Congrats go out to Norwich for beating Man U, and AFC Wimbledon for winning promotion to the Ryman League, all the former Franchise fans deserve a league club they can be proud of.

Well Levein has blamed Hughes, and if he did kick the ball away twice then it's needless, but two yellow card offences nontheless.

de Vries certainly seems to be a donkey, i hope Levein doesn't have him as a favourite because 3 years of him up front and we'll only go down, unless he drastically improves.

packt up 04-09-2005 05:02 PM

de Vries has a name which sounds like he should be a good footballer :(.

Drogba was right next to Lucio, of course he was interfering, no questions asked. It shouldn't have counted, but they scored a dodgy penalty.
