And Schoop probably has a bigger penis than Kipnis too. Chicks dig that as well.

Schoop has a career 283 career in base lmao. He's a career below average hitter lmao. His career "best" is a 306 on base unless you count the 5 games he played his first year lol. His "best" is worse than Kipnis' worst on base lmao. Kipnis is an all-star and Schoop is barely major league average, if that. Kipnis is Like 5x better lolololol. |
You weren't wrong on Rickard to the extent of blah blah blah. You were just wrong lol.
And you mean 21 year oops Andy Santander, who never played above A ball? Lmao who's the last rule 5 pick who didn't make it past A ball to make any mind of impact offensively? Lmao he Will probably get sent back to Cleveland. |
The Indians blog I read wants him back because he projects out to a Victor Martinez type player and he's only 22. They figured the Orioles figured they could stash him on the DL due to a shoulder surgery he had in December to satisfy the rule 5 25 man roster requirement and because the surgery wasn't a major one like previously thought he's healthy and won't be going to the dl barring another injury. But no way he goes back to Cleveland. The Orioles can use a backup OF with his potential in the future and they've never shyed away from using a roster spot for a rule 5 player before (mist famous being Flaherty from the Cubs in 2011 he's still a bench player)
OF Trumbo Jones Kim Smith IF Davis Schoop Hardy Machafo Flaherty C Castillo Joseph SP Tillman Gausman Bundy Jimenez Miley RP Britton Oday Givens Brach Hart There's 4 slots open for RP and utility players so there's a spot for Santander at least. And Jones had 29 hr in 152 games last year and 27 in 137 in 2015. He's a 30 hr guy when he doesn't miss games (32 in 2012 in 162 and 33 in 2013 in 160). |
Quote:
Likelihood is he's gonna set sent back because the Orioles think they can compete and having a dead bat on the roster who is maybe a backup outfielder long-term is a wasted roster spot for them. But ok. He projects to be a Victor Martinez type. Based on a blog. Sure. |
Jones is a good player
|
just Dro's hyperbole is too much
|
Quote:
Which is where the comparison to V Mart comes from Indians blog article I mentioned earlier The funny thing is Santander has never met Martinez and his batting stance and etc is all natural to him not trying to copy Martinez's |
So who do you think has a more valid opinion? A fan blog who's citing batting stance as a reason for a player comp, or a site run by mlb with real scouting reports by actual scouts measuring tools and ability instead of silly things like batting stances?

The Chris Sale trade looks even more important now. Imagine not acquiring him and Price going down.
|
They are about in the same place they were now. I'm not convinced Sale is that elite of a pitcher.
|
Sale is one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Price had a down year, not sure if that's the new norm for him though or if it was just bad luck. |
He had a good 2014. Everything after that was about run of the mill really.
|
Sale or Price?
|
|
Quote:
Seems odd he waited till now to deal with the problem if it kept bugging him every year. Either his previous doctor(s) were bad or Rays/Jays just took his word on it not being serious. |

Sale's numbers dont say he's is one of the best pitchers in baseball.
|
He can be pretty fucking dominant though.
|
Orioles scrub team got 1 hit vs the Yankees
Ugg |
I'm not convinced that Sale will be good going from pitching in the AL Central which has been the worst division in baseball the last couple years to the AL East which has been the toughest division in baseball for like the last decade plus
If Sale isn't top shelf, David Price is out..that puts a lot of pressure on Porcello to replicate 2016. Not to mention Pomeranz has a bum arm too |
I bet BoSox are wishing they had Buchholz back right about now....

For the second year in a row, the Mets have stuck to their hardline stance of not negotiating with their pre-arbitration eligible players and simply renewing their contracts. It was deGrom last year, and now Thor. Neither player signed their deals because they disagreed with what the team was offering them.
Reportedly the Mets and Thor were only $9k apart. Seems baffling to me that they'd miff their ace over what amounts to pennies in baseball. |
It's probably not about the money but the principle of the thing.

Literally nobody important would play if it was after the season.

Would also be competing against the Caribbean Leagues players like to go for winter baseball.
Unless MLB ever considers going in a similar route like MLS and NHL does for World Cups and Winter Olympics where they have a special break in the middle of the season, Spring Training is the only real time possible to hold the WBC. |

I think the WBC is stupid since there's only like 4 good teams. DR Cuba Korea and US.

Italy comes back from down by 4 in the bottom of the ninth to beat Mexico!

Aaron Sanchez is on the Canadian cover. Seems smart to feature different athletes in different countries. They could even have a dozen different covers just in the States and I bet it would help sales....
|
The starting outfield for today's Mets Spring Training game:
LF Yoenis Cespedes CF Curtis Granderson RF Tim Tebow |
Why is Tim Tebow playing in these games?
|
The Mets have the lost 11 of 55 players from their spring training roster to the WBC, and they have a split squad today.
So they need to use a whole ton of minor leaguers to get through these games. And it's a cheap way to drum up interest in an otherwise meaningless spring game. |
Haha awesome. Hope he gets on a hot streak.

Moonax can you send me another fantasy baseball join request. Accidentally deleted cause I thought it was Wadding's league that never started last year.
|
Angel Pagan didn't pass the Orioles physical (unsure when) which might be why he hasn't signed anywhere.
Pedro Alvarez signed a minor league deal with the Orioles and he's going to be playing OF in AAA. |
DR just came back from a 5-0 deficit against Andrew Miller and Team USA.
At this point I fully expect the DR to run the table on the whole tournament again. They're scary good. |
This Japan/Netherlands game is pretty good.
|
That was good.
|
Man this automatic base runner rule sucks. Completely ruined an otherwise great game between Columbia and DR.
I get they kinda have no choice, can't be playing 15 innings in March. But if MLB ever adopted these rules it would be shit |
I agree. For the purpose of the tournament it's fine, I guess. I mean, it's tolerable considering the circumstances.
But yeah, doing this in an actual MLB game would be a terrible idea and I hope the results sway the commissioner's office from moving forward with it. |
What did we learn today?
Christian Yelich's mom looks younger than him. |

LMAO RIGHT NOW
http://www.indystar.com/story/sports...me-7/99182242/ From the excerpt: An hour before the seventh game of the World Series, Rizzo stripped off all his clothes, cranked the theme from Rocky on the clubhouse stereo one more time, jumped on top of a coffee table and began quoting lines from the movie and throwing his best shadow-boxing punches. Pitcher Héctor Rondon, joining in on the hijinks, picked up an aerosol can of shoe cleaner and sprayed it in the direction of Rizzo's groin. Startled and angered, Rizzo stopped and yelled, "What the heck, man!" He cut the music and stormed off toward the showers to clean off the spray. "I'm thinking, Dang, what's he doing?" Ross said. "We can't have this negative vibe right before the game. I go by there. I can tell he's a little irritated." Ten minutes went by. Rizzo finally emerged from the shower. He walked back silently to his locker with a towel around this waist. The room was quiet and uneasy. Ross walked up to Rizzo and broke the silence. "Hey! It's not how many times you get knocked down … it's how many times you get up!" Rizzo chuckled. "You know what?" he said. "You're right!" Said Ross, "He rips the towel off, runs up, turns the music on again, and he jumps back on the coffee table and starts doing the Rocky motions again." Now, as Schwarber got ready to hit, Ross turned in Rizzo's direction and yelled at him, "Hey, it's not how many times you get knocked down…." On cue Rizzo completed the battle cry, yelling back, "It's how many times you get back up!" Eventually, Rizzo would find clothing for the rest of his speech, but he set the tone for the Cubs' historic night. It's just another reminder that baseball clubhouses are, uh, unique. You can read the entire excerpt here. |
WBC is wonderful. Baez celebrating before he even makes the tags. Love it.
|
Mexico is currently upset at both the MLB and WBC in regards to tiebreaker rules for the WBC.
Asked several times what was needed to advance on tiebreakers prior to their last group stage game and got no responses back. First found out what was needed by announcers from the tv broadcast during the game. Then found out after the game, the announcers were wrong and WBC's Twitter account said an elimination game was needed instead. Then found out afterwards WBC's Twitter account was wrong and they were already eliminated since the WBC rules committee used a different tiebreaker instead. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/1...co-elimination |
lol fuck the wbc. What a disaster.

Good thing those games don't matter

Being no hit would have been horrible

Except it wouldn't have been. Because it's spring training, where games don't matter and guys wearing number 97 are getting multiple at bats. Nobody would've cared. Unless they're dumb. Dumb people would care.

Speaking of leagues that don't really matter. PM me your yahoo email to get invited to the TPWW Fantasy Baseball League!
April 2 is the draft date before RassleMania. |
Netherlands is gonna win the WBC. I think that might be a great thing for baseball in general.
