move the HOF to Thurs, NXT to Friday,
WrestleMania night 1 - 3 1/2 hrs Saturday
WrestleMania night 2 - 3 1/2 hrs Sunday
RAW - Monday
SmackDown - Tuesday

Boom, sell double the tickets to WM, fans don't have to sit thru a 7 hr show (though some will spend double to attend both days, like a music festival of sorts) and they can charge even more for their travel packages by adding the extra show day.

Vader revealed he is having heart surgery today to fix his on-going heart problems.

In a bit of irony, him being involved in a car crash 2 years ago actually saved his life since it was only discovered as part of the routine medical check in the hospital.

These will not be accurate predictions, but look at the potential length of this card from RAW matches alone. You can almost do two WrestleManias:

Triple Threat Match for the Universal Championship
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Finn Balor

Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar III

The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns

Triple H vs. Seth Rollins

Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal

Braun Strowman vs. Samoa Joe

RAW Women's Championship
Emmalina (c) vs. Charlotte

Cruiserweight Championship
Neville (c) vs. Kota Ibushi

RAW Tag Team Championship
The Hardys (c) vs. The New Day

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

United States Championship
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Rusev

Cesaro vs. Sheamus

Gallows & Anderson vs. Enzo & Cass

12-Man Cruiserweight Kickoff
Austin Aries, The Brian Kendrick, TJ Perkins, Noam Dar, Drew Gulak & Ariya Daivari vs. Akira Tozawa, Tajiri, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik & Mustafa Ali

SmackDown Women's Championship
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Becky Lynch

TLC Match for a SmackDown Tag Team Championship shot
The Usos vs. The Fashion Police vs. The Ascension vs. The Vaudevillains

Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Baron Corbin vs. Luke Harper

Hair vs. Mask Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kalisto

WWE UK Championship
Tyler Bate (c) vs. Jack Gallagher

Kane vs. James Ellsworth

Hardcore Match for the honorary ECW Championship
Rhyno (c) vs. Heath Slater

Mickie James vs. Naomi

Apollo Crews vs. Mojo Rawley

SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The Revival (c) vs. American Alpha

Kickoff Match
Pete Dunne vs. Trent Seven

Admittedly that's not the most heavyweight card, but if you throw in things like Alpha being accompanied by Hulk Hogan and you really let AJ Styles, it could deliver and help some of those undercard guys who are struggling find places. Kane vs. Ellsworth would just be a squash. Rawley has got heel potential. The TLC match seems like it has odd placement and is a generally weird addition, but I think it would call back to that time they first gave Edge & Christian and The Hardys a ladder and gave them the chance to try and get over. It also allows you to place The Revival in the actual title match without politically stepping over everybody else's spot. I suppose you could not do Slater vs. Rhyno and have them in there if you want a babyface team people care about, but you could also call up The Dudleys and just trim The Ascension and Vaudevillains from the match, but I think it would be kind to give them a shot here. Overall, that means you'd be getting 26 main show matches across a weekend.

Rather than make it a two day show why not just stop trying to plug every worker you can think of into a match? 10 solid matches is enough, anything else is too much.

Jordan 03-13-2018 08:15 PM

My fingers are crossed for Kurt. He looked so bad in his return matches and I really hope he's been training as hard as he can to make it work.

2 main belts
2 side belts
2 women's belts
2 tag belts
Cruiser Title
Andre and Moohlah

11 matches
So either some title doesn't get defended or there aren't any non title matches

Yeah definitely this! Wrestlemania used to be the "showcase of the immortals". The best of the best. Now it's all about cramming everybody into the show, even if it means cramming them into filler matches that nobody cares about.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-14-2018 07:57 AM

I mean when it started it was just as much about cramming everyone onto the show. Lots of stupid matches.

Ricky Steamboat faced Matt Borne for Christ's sake.

Immediately thought of the old N64 wrestling games from Shane's sell of getting thrown into the post. All that was missing was a "ding" type sound and it would have been a perfect reenactment by Shane.

Apparently Hillbilly Jim wants Hulk Hogan to induct him into WWE's Hall of Fame although he won't know who the official person will be till the close of Mania weekend.

Had an idea that Asuka’s streak ends at Mania. Asuka wins the belt but Carmella cashes in and plays uber heel. Could play off that both Taker and Asuka’s streaks both ended in NOLA (not to compare them, but still)

So I've decided to embark on a quest to watch every single piece of 1984 footage that I have in chronological order. I have all the 1984 t.v plus a ton of House Shows. Currently watching the Feb.18 1984 Championship Wrestling show where they do a 10 bell salute to David Von Erich. 1984 WWF is amazing.

owenbrown 03-15-2018 09:14 AM

How many shows were there in January of '84 prior to Hogan winning the WWF title for the first time?

Bad News Gertner 03-15-2018 09:28 AM

I have three weeks of television plus a Spectrum House Show in Philly where Iron Shiek defends the WWF Title against Tito Santana. Only footage of Shiek defending the title.

Doesn't seem very likely but maybe. I could see them finding some excuse or another, assuming Asuka wins the title and isn't cashed in on, for moving Carmella over to RAW.

Let's face it: In all likelihood, Asuka's undefeated run isn't going away any time soon. IJS.

Just watched Hansen vs Hogan from 1990 again. Easily my favourite Hogan match. Mind you, Hogan was fucking awesome in that match.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-16-2018 09:35 AM

Hogan was just smart in knowing when he had to bring it. The WWF crowds were fine for him to rip a shirt, take some bumps, hulk up, big boot and legdrop. In Japan, Hogan knew he had to work to get a reaction and he was more than competent in doing so. If he wrestled his Japan style all the time, he probably wouldn't have had such a long career... At least in ring.

I'm inclined to agree, but at the same time, Stan Hansen had a hell of a long career working that style.
