Cena is clearly the most logical option and all. It's just.......ugh, fuck.

I think Cena will have close to 30 world title reigns by the time he retires. Because he's such a physical freak with super-human healing abilities he'll probably continue to wrestle until he's like 45.

Rollins should have cashed in and took Cena by surprise and actually won it.

#1-norm-fan 06-29-2014 11:19 PM

They need to push a guy consistently to build him up as someone who doesn't bring the title down by winning it. Not throw the title on a guy who isn't ready and use it to try to build him up. We've seen that before over and over. It doesn't do anybody any good.

As it stands, they've done nothing but start and stop pushes on guys for years and it's left Cena as the only face who can hold the title without bringing down its prestige and making it look more useless.

Shisen Kopf 06-29-2014 11:21 PM

Why does everyone hate Cena so darn much? He does so much charity work for sick kids with cancer. If you hate Cena then you are pro cancer. Might as well tell Tazz Dan you have some bad news for him while you're at it. Cena rocks!

I agree on all counts. He's not going off to film a movie anytime soon.

As for the now: They probably feel they have to go this route after all these starts and stops when it comes to various things like the drawn out DB injury. Cena is the safe choice right now which is probably the best thing to do.

WWE somehow need to add Reigns into the mix at Battleground and do a Cena/Orton/Reigns triple threat or something. Because running Cena/Orton AGAIN is just asking for the fans to shit on your main event just like they did at the Rumble. Even the most stringent Cena or Orton supporters have to admit it'd be fucking terrible for them to main event yet another PPV one on one.

Why can't the both of them just go off to film a remake of Suburban Commando ("Youre a dead man, Ramsey") just to get them off TV for a few months to let us breath?

BigCrippyZ 06-29-2014 11:34 PM

It's not that I hate Cena, in fact he's probably one of the coolest superstars in terms of his work ethic, desire to give back and do good for the less fortunate, disabled, sick, etc.

The problem is with his character, or lack thereof, in that he doesn't have one. He's essentially playing the role of a cartoon super hero without hardly ever showing any actual character or personality to make or keep his cartoon super hero interesting. It's not even that Cena doesn't have the ability, charisma, talent or personality to play the role either. For whatever reason though, he rarely gets or takes the opportunity to show any character or personality to make his cartoon super hero interesting.

Rollins would end up being Paul Revere's horse the next time they're in Boston.

That can be said about pretty much everyone in the company. I was just saying in the casual... wrestling thread that most of the roster is completely devoid of personality and character depth. The heels play the same generic heel role and the faces play the same generic face role. The only reason so many people hate Cena is because he's the one guy who's been consistently on top showcasing WWE creative's laziness when it comes to characters (and the lean toward being family friendly and less mature). There's a reason he has been on top despite that though. Whoever is on top is gonna get bland if the booking isn't capable. Might as well be a guy who actually has the look, charisma and mainstream appeal as a saving grace.

Sideshow Poit is way more bangable than Corporate Poit.

The gay men who live around here disagree.

Yeah I was getting beers at the time after watching the great Daniel Bryan/Bo Dallas promo and thought the match had ended. The replay was really loud we had thought we had missed the match as a squash.

That Rusev vs Big E match was not bad at all.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-30-2014 01:23 AM

Pretty much the same match from the last PPV. Good spear spot by Big E.

Shadrick 06-30-2014 01:25 AM

change your name to #1-cena-fan

Shadrick 06-30-2014 01:26 AM

Cena winning made sense. And I have no problems with it. It's just kinda how he popped up in the end, went on his AA rampage, and won so quickly that I'm sure most people take issue with. It just felt anti-climatic.

Yeah I think he had to do it quickly so the authority couldn't do anything like jack up the thing King of the Ring '99 style. PPV went off abruptly too sort of thought there would be some sort of attack on Cena to at least tease a Rollins cash in.

They didn't do any post-PPV antics like they did at the Survivor Series.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-30-2014 01:46 AM

Man I was sitting behind an annoying bitch who kept screaming for Sheamus for the entire title ladder match, but she also was screaming for Naomi to send Paige back to where she came from during the divas title match. I don't know if she saw the irony.

The bump that Big E took looked very bad.

What section were you in ? I was in Loge 4 pretty decent seats, ansd I got to watch several Cm Punk signs go bye bye, and see fans dressed up as Mountie, MDM, and twin Paul Bearers

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-30-2014 02:21 AM

Middle section of bleachers. Good line of sight to the ring and the jumbotron. Pissed they didn't show Renee on the jumbotron during the pre-show crew segments.

Sat there for the Smackdown show a few months back good seats there as well.. The three matches before the Main event were freakin crowd killing almost.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-30-2014 02:56 AM

Just found a time sheet for that show. There wasn't even a match longer than 6 minutes. Strange.
