HBK, to the surprise of no one, still has it. His shaved head and stubble give him an even better, grizzled/worn look. If you're gonna bring back arguably the GOAT, try not to kill him his first match back with two out of shape old farts who haven't had it in years.

What pissed me off is Michaels was v good, and it's wasted in a seniors' circuit match with a bunch of hasbeens who are beyond limited in their ability. Luckily the crowd liked it, so I guess good on them for that.

Just got done watching. I really don't think the show itself was that bad. There were some questionable finishes. The Shane thing was stupid if there is no payoff in the end.... Shane vs. CM Punk at WM35 would solve that. The more Kurt works, the better he is getting for the standards of his age & injuries. The Brock thing was a bit weird as Braun really should be champion by now, but makes total sense if for only the Survivor Series rematch with AJ that they plugged immediately after he won.
I was completely shocked at the amount of work HBK did in this match. Makes me believe that his return is not just a one-off and figure that he'll have a couple more through to Wrestlemania. HHH looked like he got hurt cause Kane slammed him on the wrong table. The table Taker cleared was not used and HHH landed very hard on those monitors. Also, HBK's moonsault spot was terrific, but can't believe that Taker & Kane didn't protect him. I sure hope that one botch doesn't force Shawn to turn down any more matches. |
I used to hate The Undertaker when he was good. Imagine my feelings now. Lol at Shane being “Best in the World”. I think I’m done.

It's the right call of there's a long term plan to have him meaningfully drop the belt. If he's just going to show up in half cooked storylines again where he's running thru potential top guys in 5 minute matches its a fucking waste.

Whether or not Shane did anything was never going to forget how forgettable this show was. They produce multiple forgettable shows a year. Maybe could argue most of them are.

They had tournament matches in really quick succession that's why I really dont like these tournaments. Battle Royal would have been better than this

Pains me to say it, but Taker and Kane were unbelievably awful. Blown spots, slow motion, telegraphing spots, not catching HBK. Worst performance of both their careers. Was sad to see. No more, just please no more. My childhood can’t take anymore.
This was 5 hours of programming and no one was elevated. What a fucking disaster. Not to over exaggerate but this may be the worst WWE show I’ve ever watched. December to Dismember was better. At least that attempted to make Lashley a star. |
Brock won because Vince still has that big picture in his head of a conquering hero beating Brock at Mania. Braun will cause a lot of damage for a few months then either win the Rumble or Elimination Chamber and face Lesnar at Mania, at which point Vince will probably get cold feet and decide Brock is retaining.
The real crime of the show is Samoa Joe had to job clean AGAIN! If I didn't know any better I would say Vince is booking AJ like he was his next son in law. |

My thoughts on CROWN JEWEL...
This reminded me of WWF WORLD TOUR, a Coliseum Release where WWE had shows all over the world. The matches were pretty much all house show quality, which is fine there wasn't anything "bad" but there wasn't anything "really good" either. The tournament was really fun until the end which was stupid and silly. To learn now that they are going with a Shane heel turn, I dunno whatever. AJ/Joe was good but nothing special. I enjoyed Braun/Brock while it lasted, they did a good job with the drama. The main event wasn't what we wanted that's for sure. HBK wasn't the HBK we all watched 8 years ago, that's for sure. Would say "okay" if he didn't wrestle again, or if he did. |

A couple of days ago I realised that Mysterio must have been told to change his mask (probably because of Saudi Arabia's insanely strict religion laws) as he usually has a cross on his mask but at the event he replaced it with an a crown above an "R" and "M".

I thought I'd read up about religion in Saudi Arabia and it's just crazy.
Officially, all Saudi citizens are Muslim with the vast majority being Sunni Muslim and a very small percentage being Shia Muslim, however, Shia Islam is consistently suppressed in the country. There are Christians in Saudi Arabia but pretty much all of them are foreign workers (the same goes for Hindus) and Saudi Arabia does allow Christians into the country but does not allow them to practice their faith openly. Foreign workers who are Christian can only enter the country for temporary work and officially, the number of Saudi Arabian citizens who are Christians is zero. Saudi Arabia also forbids religious conversion from Islam and it's punishable by death. Staying with death and there are atheists and agnostics in Saudi Arabia but the country officially refers to them as "terrorists" and being either an atheist or agnostic is also punishable by death, so nobody every really comes out as being one of them. It's so crazy. |

Yeah they are currently the most backwards regime in power in the Middle East, maybe the world. North Korea and a few of the central African nations that keep changing names and leadership are up there with Saudi, but that's about it.
