Western teams try in reg season. CAVS if they tried would have won 80

Simple Fan 05-28-2015 09:00 PM

Lol, 80 games they only play 82. The most any one has won in a regular season is 72 by the Bulls when Michael Jordan was playing. To say that East teams don't try during the season makes my point even more that the Western Conference is better.

Ruien 05-28-2015 09:30 PM

There were a lot of factors into it. 2 years ago we were playing in the playoffs after game 4 with Brooklyn with 6 or 7 players a night. No idea how we beat Brooklyn either but we made it to the second round. Was just silly.

Simple Fan 05-29-2015 06:39 PM

Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg seems to be the front runner for the Bulls job. He is a former guard that played for the Bulls and has a 115-56 record at Iowa State. Offensive minded coach that runs a lot of uptempo. Jobs his if he is interested.

ClockShot 05-29-2015 08:29 PM

Magic hired Scott Skiles.

Clerk 05-30-2015 12:12 AM

Bulls suck and are irrelevant Rose is overrated and was shut down by the CAVS same will happen for curry. CAVS will win #AllIn

Simple Fan 05-30-2015 01:32 PM

I will give you credit you did spell CAVS right twice in a row.

Ruien 05-30-2015 05:37 PM

McLegend 06-04-2015 10:12 PM

Really hope every game is as exciting as the final 3 minutes of the 1st half.

Droford 06-04-2015 11:31 PM

Better game than I figured but looks like Cleveland is going to steal game 1

Droford 06-04-2015 11:34 PM

Maybe not just yet..ot

Droford 06-04-2015 11:49 PM

Lol will Cleveland even score at all in OT?

Lol 2 pts with 5 seconds left

Simple Fan 06-05-2015 12:00 AM

Hell of a game. Cavs looked gassed in OT. Rest of the series should be good, if Irving is out it might hurt Cleveland.

Triple A 06-05-2015 12:19 AM

nice... f the cavs.........

sucks @ irving though

want them to lose without any excuses

Frank Drebin 06-05-2015 09:57 AM

If the cavs lose, I'll bet they fire Blatt and hire Tom Thibodeau. Worst case scenario for the Bulls.

Ruien 06-05-2015 10:12 AM

Don't think James would want Tibbs to be his coach if the reports of how he likes complete control is true.

Heisenberg 06-05-2015 02:45 PM

I watched hoping John Stockton would come out and RKO Steve Kerr for the Jazz/Bulls rivalry to live on, but alas he only had a commercial spot. John will always have the Dream Team I guess

Simple Fan 06-05-2015 05:36 PM

Irving has a fractured kneecap, done for the series.

Clerk 06-06-2015 03:14 AM

So much for mvp 26 points? Lol Lebron had 40+ not even trying. And to everyone saying the CAVS are done just remember the CAVS lost game 1 to the Bulls too

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-06-2015 06:30 AM

LeBron can't do it all on his own...he's no superman.

The MVThree has this.

Clerk 06-06-2015 02:18 PM

Yes Lebron can he's done it twice before and I'd rather have Shumpert and smith than wAde and bosh

Damn another OT, what a series.

Dark One 06-07-2015 11:12 PM

Don't watch basketball much, so I don't really have any context here, but is the ref'ing in this game as much of a clusterfuck as it appears?

McLegend 06-07-2015 11:20 PM

Yeah it really was a clusterfuck.

That was a hard fought game. Really entertaining...

Simple Fan 06-07-2015 11:21 PM

Curry sucked it up this game. Bad passes and missing shots, he was off his game tonight.

McLegend 06-07-2015 11:34 PM

This game feels like a game 4 or game 5 where it's huge emotional, physically draining game, but it's only game 2.

Evil Vito 06-07-2015 11:57 PM

I haven't given a fuck about much of this season, but this series has been really fun to watch.

Still pulling for Golden State. Not because of LeBron, I'm over my LeBron hate. The dude is incredible. It's just that Cleveland being a factory of sadness is one of the few sports storylines that's held true for pretty much the entire time I've been watching sports. I don't want to lose it.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-08-2015 12:13 AM

Still have the Browns and the Indians. Burn on big river. Burn on.

Clerk 06-08-2015 01:26 AM

All for one! Lebron showed why he is the best to ever play. Even through adversity he can overcome the odds and brought it back to the great city of Cleveland. What a story, what a team, what a player. God bless Lebron James

I missed most of the game... but if the bullshit going on in the last 3 minutes of OT is any indication of the officiating for the entire game, I wouldn't be surprised if there were another "Dounaghy Scandal" waiting to happen.

My favorite call is the foul Curry drew for jumping into the guy already in midair. Should have been a charge, or at least a no-call.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-08-2015 02:24 AM

They both jumped into each other. Smith jumped early. They will call it that way every time.

Oh and LeBitch complaining for 10 minutes when he got hacked but didn't notice that he traveled before it? They need to T him up for bitching more often. He's not the King of the Court.

Triple A 06-08-2015 02:34 AM

The thing where you can just jump into a guy to draw a foul on a jump shot after a pump fake seems really dumb... they do "call it every time" but it seems illogical

Sadly, that call is how it works I. The NBA. It should be changed but it was the right call via the rule book.

Nark Order 06-08-2015 12:55 PM

GS got away with quite a few fouls as well. People see what they want to see.

Simple Fan 06-08-2015 01:22 PM

I thought the game was fair. The pump fakes to get a guy to leave his feet is always going to be a foul, its the right call. The NBA officiating is a lot better than the NCAA.

Ruien 06-08-2015 01:25 PM

Ya, no game will ever be perfect. If its your unlucky day then you need to be better and overcome the calls.

McLegend 06-09-2015 09:12 PM

Pumped for tonight.

Hate 9:00 starting time though.

McLegend 06-09-2015 09:15 PM

Also anyone see Draymond Green elbow Delladova on a screen, then Delladova tripped Green as was getting up?

I liked that.

McLegend 06-09-2015 09:34 PM

Every time JR Smith catches the ball he travels.

Simple Fan 06-09-2015 10:14 PM

Dellavadova is pretty sound defensively. Curry has struggled with him in the lineup.

Droford 06-09-2015 11:18 PM

Heh, Cleveland about to blow a 20 pt lead bwahaha

Droford 06-09-2015 11:47 PM

Lol if the ref blow that out of bounds call and fuck over cleveland

They got it right

Simple Fan 06-09-2015 11:52 PM

Good game, Warriors made a good effort but could never overcome that poor first half.

Nark Order 06-10-2015 12:58 AM

Bogut needs to start deliveing on defense, considering that's the only reason he's there. Cavs are well rounded on offense and defense. I say Cavs in 6. Lebron is playing out of his mind with no All Stars backing him up. I don't really understand the Bron hate. The guy is pretty incredible.

Krimzon7 06-10-2015 01:12 AM

LEBRON JAMES IS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE PLANET.

Seriously, if he continues to average a triple double this way, he should be the MVP win or lose.

Bogut is getting thoroughly worked by Mozgov and Tristian. Those two are the unsung heros of the Cavs. They are both going to be responsible for pushing Kevin Love out of Cleveland.

seems crazy that 84% of game 3 winners in the finals in a 1-1 series go on to win the series, seems too high

it's in the numbers. The loser of Game three has to win 3 out of four games...and (at least) two games are going to be on the opposition's court.

they gave a similar stat about a 1-1 stanley cup final the other night. something like 81%.

Evil Vito 06-10-2015 10:08 AM

It does seem like a really high number. You'd think that the losing team would bounce back in Game 4 with regularity and then basically turn the series into a Best of 3 even if they lose their "home court advantage".

If the series goes 3-1 though then yeah, it's over. Basketball seems way harder than baseball or hockey to come back from a big series deficit. And with the way LeBron is playing I definitely can't see the Cavs dropping 3 straight.

Evil Vito 06-10-2015 10:12 AM

I did always find the idea of home court advantage (and home ice in hockey) to be a bit overrated, actually. Yeah you may need to deal with loud, hostile fans but most pros can tune it out and beyond that the game is the same. It's not like football where you might be out in the elements or baseball where parks dimensions are all different/potentially catered to the home team.

Krimzon7 06-10-2015 09:45 PM

In basketball, it seems that the advantage lies in the comfort of the role players. Role players seem to play better at home than on the road. Call it familiarity with the rims, depth perception of the home court, etc... these appear to be what help swing the series via home court advantage.

McLegend 06-11-2015 09:12 PM

I don't know about this line up change by Golden State.

If anything I think David Lee should should start at center.

McLegend 06-11-2015 09:16 PM

That was a great pass by Lebron. Kind of a holy shit moment.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-11-2015 09:17 PM

Finally Krimzon is here. Clerk being on LeBron's nuts is way more annoying.

Cleavland looked tired tonight. First 3 games took a lot out of Lebron, and to think someone said he wasn't trying. After the headshot to the camera didn't seem to be as aggressive.

Ruien 06-12-2015 07:46 AM

They get a extra day off this time so that will help. But the Warriors are way better than the way they played the first 3 games of the series.

McLegend 06-14-2015 11:30 AM

Embiid is hurt again. That's great news.

My favorite basketball team will never be good.

McLegend 06-14-2015 10:04 PM

The officiating has been equally horrible for both teams.

McLegend 06-14-2015 10:10 PM

Lebron needs to get hot in the 4th.

McLegend 06-14-2015 10:11 PM

What do you think, Ferret?

Ruien 06-14-2015 10:12 PM

Its amazing what LeBron is able to do. How many more years does he have THIS in him? Past 3 years he has basically carried his team in the playoffs (Minus Bosh who played D and O equally well).

Ruien 06-14-2015 11:23 PM

So happy I opted to watch this game rather than Money in the Bank. Was an amazing game. LeBron is amazing, JR started off super hot, but in the end Golden State has to much fire power for the Cavs in the 4th quart again.

Droford 06-14-2015 11:36 PM

If I lived in Cleveland I'd probably just give up on sports

Yeah these Finals (from the bits I've seen) seem like last year: Lebron vs the other team. It's pretty ridiculous how he's been able to keep his team(s) in these games.

Emperor Smeat 06-16-2015 08:36 PM

Grantland has a really good article about the Cavs and how Lebron is both their best and worst thing about the team. Best because of him being a really great star but worst that everything is danergously too dependent on him (just like almost every other season). A big flaw in Lebron handpicking the roster to fit his style meant they can't adjust well to whenever a West team changes its play style (ex. Warriors suddenly going all small ball).

Also the possibility that this might be the best chance for the Cavs to win the title since cap issues are going to be a big problem unless they want to break the luxury tax record for next season.

Quote:

But LeBron is an anomaly, and in a salary-capped league, the Cavs have to look hard at how he’s carried them. If they max out Love, retain Thompson at something close to the max, use Brendan Haywood’s nonguaranteed deal to land a key piece, and re-sign Shumpert and Dellavedova at reasonable numbers, they could set an all-time record for salary and tax payments next season with a bill north of $200 million. Blowing past the tax carries roster-building restrictions that make it harder to find supplementary players.
http://grantland.com/the-triangle/th...on-juggernaut/

McLegend 06-16-2015 09:25 PM

If I was the Cavs I wouldn't mind if Love opted out. I think they need another perimeter player...

Andrew Wiggins trade was a bad move for them.

McLegend 06-16-2015 09:25 PM

The Cavs are done

McLegend 06-16-2015 10:53 PM

Andre Iguodala should be the MVP

Ruien 06-16-2015 10:56 PM

Doubt Love will opt out because he knows this will be his best bet to get a title. Then will go to a new team (Since Cavs won'tpay him big bucks) to make his money.

Ruien 06-16-2015 11:19 PM

Warriors looking to blow this.

Droford 06-16-2015 11:23 PM

Nah, nba wanted to make sure everyone didn't tune out when it was obvious LeBron was losing

Ruien 06-16-2015 11:29 PM

Yeup either him or Curry.

Whole series turned around once Iggy became a starter for the Warriors while Curry has been playing a lot better the past few games. Cavs being really stubborn with the short bench also has hurt them.

Ruien 06-16-2015 11:48 PM

Hope Iggy gets the MVP but its hard to not pick Curry. He is the superstar and the person who will be marketed on television.
