That dude's face standing to the right of Lasorda
And everyone has their fucking camera out Jesus |
50 home runs hit yesterday across all games.
Whoa. |
Cubs owner threatening the team might end up moving out of Wrigley Field as a last resort if their demands for a new scoreboard don't get approved.

Not going to happen. Yah, move to Rosemont where a plane will fly overhead every 10 minutes. They have a cash cow in that park if they get the renovations and "Cubs Town" that they want. The bar owners are right to balk at the proposal because the whole idea is for the Cubs to expand and capture all the business they see going on around the park before and after the game that they aren't getting. Think the Cubs are thrilled when people spend $7 for a CAN OF OLD STYLE (not joking) at Murphy's Bleachers?? Fuck No. They want to be the ones to charge that much for that shit can of beer. The Cubs have a right and I don't fault them for trying to get everything they can, but they don't seem to know how things work in the City and that no one believes them when they say they are "going to create 1,300 jobs" and all that bullshit.
They have tried to model everything they've done after the Red Sox who were/are in a similar situation to them in terms of an old park in a neighborhood. Cubs President Crane Kenny probably has a locket around his neck full of John Henry's splooge. They want to do what the Red Sox have done point by point - which means not moving from that craphole. They should have played the "moving away" card a long time ago and have shown that they don't want to move. Error. Now they don't have that play and won't get all they can as a result. People should be fired for this fuck up. The Curse of Frank Drebin strikes again. |
Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City spent $250 mil. for its renovations.
Target Field cost about $400 mil. to build. Where the hell is the $500 mil. figure coming from JUST for renovations at Wrigley Field? Something's not adding up. |
At first, they asked for the taxpayers to foot half the bill during a recession and the city/state almost broke. They got laughed at. Now they are going to cover the whole thing on their own in exchange for the city relaxing landmark restrictions on the park. (effectively letting them out of their deal with the rooftop owners as well)
Because its all their own cash, who knows if they are inflating that number to look better - but part of the plan is to build an entire hotel and complex around the park, so I could see how that number could be true. |

don't know if the Reds won or not today
don't really watch baseball don't care for it |
Yankees win. Rather sad for them to edge out the 'Stros.

"I'M WHIPPING OUT MY ROOSTER AND CROWING OFF ALL OVER THIS SITE!!!!"

I hope the Os are catching the angels in a 4 game series in Anaheim atthevright time. I thought they caught Seattle at the right time but instead the o's looked like crap
Why is the Jays pitching so poor?
John Farrell left.

As you might of noticed, I said " right now ". I was kind of stating a fact. Not an opinion. You're stupid. |
Awww, c'mon guy. Just having some fun with you.
Travis Wood hasn't given up more than 2 earned runs in a game this year so its not just right now. Just saying. |
After all the great plays the Cubs have made in the field today - a dropped pop up and a wild pitch that Wellington Castillo gave up on tie the game.
Just like that, RP's boy, Travis Wood won't get the dub. |

Yankees aquire Chris Nelson from the Rockies in exchange for cash.
Rockies sign Roy Oswalt to a minor league deal. (credit to mlbtraderumors.com) |
Hope Oswalt makes the big league club. Love him.
Os game is being delayed by a swarm of bees.
 Red Sox take 2 out of 3 from the Jays. Dempster been getting better the last few starts.
Karma for Mike Trout, Im sure everyone remembers that home run he robbed from the Os at Camden Yards last year (I think it was even made into a bobblehead)
http://www.sportsgrid.com/wp-content...Mike-Trout.jpg ...well..He went to jump up against the fence to rob another one and it bounced off his glove..wouldn't have gone over the fence but he accidentally swatted it back with his glove when his glove riccocheted off the top of the fence. |

Feel like this is the type of investment RP makes in a jersey.
Lol
not a lot of baseball recently...a few innings here or there
really despise when people wear "custom" jerseys |
Can't believe I bought one when I was in high school. Have never worn the fucking thing.
I will never buy anything with a name on it ever again in today's sports culture actually. |
the only "jerseys" i will wear are ones that are ridiculous...like i got one for Bill Laimbeer a few years ago, and i have one for Lastings Milledge when he was on the mets and one for when he was on the nationals...will only wear the t-shirt ones though, not actual jerseys
Will only go with jerseys for guys who are unlikely to be associated with another team. Can't go wrong with an Eli Super Bowl jersey or a Wright jersey now that he's basically signed for life.
Afraid to wear jerseys as an adult now. I do like the few I have though.
http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.46625...47095&pid=15.1 http://ts2.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.46140...78873&pid=15.1 Its shocking how many people don't recognize the Expos logo. |
I got a generic O's jersey but it doesnt fit cause im fat. My Joe Flacco Jersey fits fine though.
Cubs have a suspect in A Ball named Rock Shoulders that is apparently clubbing the ball real well down in A ball.
I'll alert the media.
Got my Bubba Crosby shir-zy. Love it. Also, Eddie Royal and Brian Giles. Try to avoid jerseys mostly, however
Vin Scully or Jon Miller this weekend. Win/Win
#BeatLA
Oh yeah I have one for Brian Giles when he was on the pirates...I tye dyed it in chemistry class in 2006, it's a collectors item now, tie dye Brian Giles pirates jersey
I got a Brandon Phillips jersey back in like twenty oh six which turned out to be a pretty solid pick.
Prolly never gonna get another Bengals jersey though. Still haven't gotten over my Odell Thurman purchase :'( |
Football is so hit or miss. I started off with a Shockey jersey which was a decent pick. But it got tattered so I moved on to a Tiki jersey. The week after I bought it, he announced he was retiring at the end of the year. I figured "no big deal, he'll be a Giants legend" yet sadly he turned out to be a twat after he retired.
Figures AJ Burnett would be an ace pitcher and deal when there are no expectations for decent results.
Mets/Braves already rained out. As a result, I'll get to go to Harvey vs Sale on Tuesday

The Phillies are not great at hitting :(

So I'm hearing here and there that John Gibbons' time in Toronto is coming to an end sooner than later.
I give him to the end of the month to turn it around. Thoughts? |
He was doomed from the start. Horrible decision from the get-go.
Similar situation to last year's Marlins where the team is hastily put together and then struggled in the first month. Ozzie had to deal with constant talks about his job security which became doomed once the fire sale occurred.
Toronto won't have a fire sale but if they keep struggling, doubt Gibbsons lasts another month if Toronto still wants to compete for a playoff spot. Marlins gave up before the All-Star break last year. |
Nolan Arenado grand slam off David Price

Toronto needed an older manager who has an experience of coaching a high amount of talent and getting them up to their potential. John Gibbons couldn't even get Shea Hillenbrand to cooperate.
So far mine futures bets are still looking pretty solid.
Toronto UNDER 89 wins LA Angels UNDER 91.5 wins Texas OVER 86.5 wins Detroit OVER 92.5 wins All 4 are on pace to meet those projections. Obviously mad long season but it's reassuring that at least ~30 games into the season I'm not wildly off. And fuck yeah Tigers finally had one of those "rub your balls all over Houston's chin" type games. For a team that so many are penciling in to the AL Central title, they don't have a whole lot of dominating wins this season. crossrine |
The o's are close to 25% of the 79.5 wins they were projected to win. My biggest complaint is of their 32 games counting today, 20 of them have been on the road...
watching the nats
will stop watching once i finish eating this soup i made for lunch |
Cholula Hot Sauce started sponsoring the Nationals last year and I liked that sponsorship. Then I found out that they sponsor like every team. Then I was like Fuck Trent Green
put so many noodles in this God damn soup.....what was I thinking
I like Pirates Russell Martin a lot more than Yankees Russell Martin
Pirates Russell Martin gets an RBI double
Keep hearing this sound every time a pitch is thrown...like a camera shutter...shuttering
It's always funny when a network fires their female reporter and hires a hotter one

MCCANN IS BACK! :D
Had him for fantasy but dropped him because Napoli has been a steal so far.
The only person we need back now is Beachey. Him healthy and in the rotation, and Medlen out of the rotation would be absolutely amazing.
Walk-off win for the Red Sox tonight. 3 game losing streak over.
Hanrahan still stinks as a closer. Managed to injure himself again though. |
Jays come back from 7 down and beat the Rays with a 2 run shot in the 9th by Arencibia off Rodney. Amazing game!
hopefully the comeback win gets the Jays going.....
After a super team gets built, they usually suck for a bit, then turn it on. (See Angels, Tigers recently. Marlins don't count) The goofy thing are the injuries to Johnson and Reyes. That hurts.
Well Frank, what about last year's Red Sox?
I feel bad for Halladay.
Quote:
My talking point is injuries to these super teams and the Red Sox were decimated by them last year. Games played: Ortiz - 90 Middlebrooks - 74 Crawford - 31 Elsbury - 74 Youkilis - 42 of 71 games before being traded. ....and thats not even getting into Gonzalez playing in only 123 games with an injured wrist and Beckett and Bailey being down for good parts. A couple more injuries, and the Jays will officially be on the path the Red Sox were last year, except the Red Sox had a more talented lineup to begin with. |
2011 Red Sox was the super team. Anybody who had a clue knew Bobby V was going to run that team into the ground.
Desmond Jennings got a triple off j.a. happ's head
Did it go "boink" or hipster "boop" ??
I wonder if RP noticed Travis Wood's pitching performance tonight.
O's just a single measly game out of first
No run support tonight
Jayssssssssssss
Best pitching performance I've seen live. Matt Harvey is just outstanding.
Kinda glad in retrospect that he gave up a hit. Would have been gutting to see him have to leave after 9 perfect innings but it wouldn't count as a perfect game because of lack of run support. |
Just saw the JA Happ play. Think he was bleeding out from his ears. Can't be good
That's just raspberry jam.
Only one man would dare send him raspberry...
he might go as far as to say it's dandy bars
